The 12393 / 12394 Sampoorna Kranti Superfast Express is a Daily Superfast Express train service, which runs between Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Patna in Bihar and New Delhi in Delhi . The service began running on 16 February 2002 and is one of the fastest train services in India. It is also Called Aam Janta Ki Rajdhani ( Common Man's Rajdhani ).
Traversing the 1001-kilometre distance in under 12 hours, which puts it with likes of Patna Tejas Rajdhani Express, Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, Agartala Rajdhani Express, Howrah Rajdhani Express. It is Faster and gets Much More High Priority than the Shramjeevi Superfast Express, Magadh Express, Vikramshila Express and Bhagalpur Garib Rath Express on the same route. This train is also known as "Aam Janta ki Rajdhani" as its fare is less than that of Rajdhani Express but matches it in speed and punctuality (although Patna Rajdhani Express travels ten minutes faster than this train between New Delhi and Patna). It is quicker than few Premier Rajdhani Express Trains on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction–New Delhi section.
The train is named in memory of the Sampoorna Kranti, that began in Bihar.
At the very starting years of this train it ran with coach composition of 24 Vintage Blue ICF Coaches, which made this only train at that time. It doesn't have any stops between New Delhi and Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna Junction), and it was the only train at that time of Indian Railways.
It was initially hauled by WAP-4 Locomotive, and this was the only train non-AC ICF train to run at 115 Kmph at that of Indian Railways.
The train makes only FOUR stops between Patna and New Delhi: at Kanpur Central, Mirzapur, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction and Ara Junction. The train is hauled by WAP-7. It has LHB coach. It is now operated on HOG system in which the power to coaches is provided directly from locomotive instead of EOGs (power cars). It is the first Superfast train in India to have a LHB rake and not only this, during its run with ICF coach it ran with the maximum length permitted in Indian Railway of 24 coaches with a speed of 115 Kmph and which made this only non-AC train of Indian Railways at that time.It is the most prioritised non-AC train of Indian Railways in terms of clearance. It is the pride of ECR and does speeds of 130 km/hour [1] from 8 August 2015.
This train has many firsts to its name-
As per latest schedule,
The train has 22 LHB coaches and carries a High Capacity Parcel Van (HCPV).
Both trains are hauled by a Gomoh Loco Shed or Samastipur Loco Shed-based WAP-7 electric locomotive from end to end.
