It serves as the parish church for St. Francis Xavier Parish in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile. St. Francis Xavier Parish was established in 1868. The vernacular style building was completed in 1916, replacing a previous structure destroyed in a hurricane. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1991 as part of the Historic Roman Catholic Properties in Mobile Multiple Property Submission.
St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church Complex is a historic Roman Catholic church complex located at Bloomfield in Ontario County, New York. The complex consists of three contributing buildings and one contributing site, the church cemetery. the church is a late Victorian eclectic brick edifice with restrained Italianate and Romanesque Revival–style design and decorative features. It features a square, wood bell tower. The rectory is a 2 1⁄2-story Colonial Revival–style frame building and features a verandah with Doric order columns. A 1 1⁄2-story carriage barn stands behind the rectory. The six-acre cemetery includes burials dating from 1866 to 1942.

The Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches is a rural region in the western part of the U.S. state of Ohio, centered near Maria Stein in Mercer County. Its name is derived from the dense concentration of large Catholic churches that dominate the area's architecture. These and other buildings were constructed by the Society of the Most Precious Blood under the oversight of the missionary priest Francis de Sales Brunner. Under his leadership, the Society founded many churches and schools in the region, as well as several seminaries.
The Gruenwald Convent is a historic former Roman Catholic convent in the far western part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located approximately 0.5 miles (0.80 km) south of the small community of Cassella in Mercer County, the convent was built in 1854. It is one of six convents that were built by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in this portion of Ohio and in adjacent portions of far eastern Indiana, and one of only two that remain without significant alterations.

Allen had previously worked in the Boston-based partnerships Allen & Kenway (1878–91) and Allen & Vance (1896-98), which executed Lathrop House (1901) and Davison House (1902) at Vassar College. The firm was known for its Gothic Revival design work.

The district encompasses 1,368 contributing buildings, 3 contributing sites, and 6 contributing structures in a predominantly residential section of Buffalo. The district includes a variety of residential buildings built primarily between about 1895 and 1930, and later improved through Model Cities Program grants between 1966 and 1975. It includes a variety of pattern book houses in popular architectural styles of the late-19th and early-20th century, with some interspersed Bungalow / American Craftsman style dwellings. Located in the district are the separately listed Robert T. Coles House and Studio and Stone Farmhouse. Other notable buildings include the Lutheran Church Home (1906), the former Second United Presbyterian Church (1920), and the former St. Francis DeSales Roman Catholic Church (1926).
