With American, United, and Eastern, it was one of the "Big Four" domestic airlines in the United States formed by the Spoils Conference of 1930.

Trans States Airlines ceased all operations on April 1, 2020.

San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, McChesney Field is a civil airport near San Luis Obispo, California, United States.
