The 2023 Bath and North East Somerset Council election was held on 4 May 2023 to elect members of Bath and North East Somerset Council in England
The Liberal Democrats maintained control of the council in 2023, increasing their majority winning forty-one seats. The Conservative leader lost his seat. [1] [2]
The sudden death of Green Party candidate Tim Morgan days before the election caused the ward election for Paulton to be delayed until a later date. [3]

Voter turnout was down from 40.76% at the 2019 local elections. Of eligible in-person voters, 0.02% were unable to show correct photo identity to vote under the new rules introduced at this election. 85 of the 141 intending voters initially rejected returned later with a correct photo identity document. Bath is a constituency in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom represented since 2017 by Wera Hobhouse of the Liberal Democrats.
North East Somerset was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament from 2010 to 2024. For the whole of its existence its Member of Parliament (MP) was Jacob Rees-Mogg of the Conservative Party.

The 2023 United Kingdom local elections were held on Thursday, 4 May 2023 in England and on Thursday 18 May 2023 in Northern Ireland. These included district councils, unitary authorities, and directly elected mayors in England, and included all local councils in Northern Ireland. Notably, these elections were the first to be held under the Elections Act 2022, a new voter identification law that required voters to show photo ID when attending a polling station, and was a cause for controversy.
The 2023 Liverpool City Council election took place on 4 May 2023 to elect members of Liverpool City Council. Following a Boundary Review by The Local Government Boundary Commission for England, the size of the council was reduced from 90 to 85 seats with a change from three-member seats, elected in thirds, three years out of every four, following the British Government instigated Best Value Inspection Report which led to the appointment by the government of Commissioners and the subsequent boundary review for Council Wards in Liverpool which the government initiated with the proviso that the number of councillors be reduced and the predominant number of wards be reduced to single members with all-up elections every four years. The election also marked the end of Liverpool's directly-elected mayoralty. After the election the council reverted to having a leader of the council chosen from amongst the councillors instead. Labour retained control of the council and their group leader Liam Robinson became leader of the council after the election.
Frome and East Somerset is a constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. It was first contested at the 2024 general election. It was created from the parts of the former constituencies of Somerton and Frome and North East Somerset as a result of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies. It has been represented since 2024 by Anna Sabine of the Liberal Democrats.
