The 2023 East Hampshire District Council election took place on 4 May 2023 to elect members of East Hampshire District Council in Hampshire, England. [1] This was on the same day as other local elections.
Prior to the election the council was under Conservative majority control. After the election the council was under no overall control, although the Conservatives remained the largest party. [2] A coalition of the Conservatives and local party the Whitehill and Bordon Community Party formed after the election, with Conservative councillor Richard Millard retaining his position as leader of the council. [3]

Hampshire County Council (HCC) is the upper-tier local authority for the non-metropolitan county of Hampshire in England. The council was created in 1889. The county council provides county-level services to eleven of the thirteen districts geographically located within the ceremonial county of Hampshire. The county council acts as the upper tier of local government to approximately 1.4 million people. It is one of 21 county councils in England.
East Hampshire is a local government district in Hampshire, England. Its council is based in the town of Petersfield, although the largest town is Alton. The district also contains the town of Bordon along with many villages and surrounding rural areas.
South Oxfordshire is a local government district in the ceremonial county of Oxfordshire, England. Its council is temporarily based outside the district at Abingdon-on-Thames pending a planned move to Didcot, the district's largest town. The areas located south of the River Thames are within the historic county of Berkshire.
Winchester, or the City of Winchester, is a local government district with city status in Hampshire, England.
The Isle of Wight Council, known until 1995 as Isle of Wight County Council, is the unitary authority which governs the county of the Isle of Wight in South East England.
