Elections to Gosport Council in Hampshire, England were held on 6 May 2010. [1] [2] Half of the council was up for election and the council stayed under no overall control. The Conservatives made six gains, including in some wards that they had lost in the previous election, despite having a reduced vote share. The Liberal Democrats and Labour Party lost 5 and 1 seats respectively, with Labour seeing a large increase of the total vote share.

Hampshire County Council

Hampshire County Council (HCC) is the county council that governs the majority of the county of Hampshire in England. It provides the upper tier of local government, below which are district councils, and town and parish councils. The county council has 78 elected councillors, and is based in the county town of Winchester. Whilst they are part of the ceremonial county of Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth are unitary authorities, and therefore are not part of Hampshire County Council, with powers instead held by their respective councils. Hampshire County Council has been controlled by the Conservative Party since 1997.

The Liberal Democrats are a liberal political party in the United Kingdom. The 2010 Winchester Council election took place on 6 May 2010 to elect members of Winchester District Council in Hampshire, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Liberal Democrats gained overall control of the council from the Conservative party.

2011 United Kingdom local elections

The 2011 United Kingdom local elections were held on Thursday 5 May 2011. The 2011 Norwich City Council election took place on 5 May 2011 to elect members of Norwich City Council in England. One third of seats were up for election. This was on the same day as other local elections and the nationwide referendum on the Alternative Vote.

2012 Gosport Borough Council election

The 2012 Gosport Council election was held on 3 May 2012 to elect members of the Gosport Council in England. This was the same day as other 2012 United Kingdom local elections. The Conservatives gained three seats from the Liberal Democrats, whilst Labour gained one seat each from the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. Both Labour and the Conservatives saw an increases vote share, whilst the Liberal Democrats' vote share fell.

The 2011 Harlow District Council election took place on 5 May 2011 to elect members of Harlow District Council in Essex, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Conservative party stayed in overall control of the council.

2003 North Warwickshire Borough Council election

On 1 May 2003, an election was held to elect councillors to the North Warwickshire Borough Council on the same day as other local elections in the UK. It was the first election to take place under the new ward boundaries, with one extra seat from the previous 34 seats added. All 35 seats were up for election and the result was no overall control with the Labour Party having the most seats at 16. The previous election had resulted in the council being controlled by Labour.
