The 2019 Eastleigh Borough Council election took place on 2 May 2019 to elect one third of members of Eastleigh Borough Council. [1] [2] The outcome was a strengthened majority for the incumbent Liberal Democrats who gained two Conservative seats. No election was held in Botley, a two-member ward, this year.

Results

The Liberal Democrats further strengthened their already large majority, with an increased vote share. They gained two Conservative seats, Fair Oak & Horton Heath and Hiltingbury. The Liberal Democrats successfully defended 10 seats up for reelection, whilst Independent Councillor Raymond Dean retained his Bishopstoke seat with an increased majority

The overall vote share also rose for the Liberal Democrats, as well as for UKIP and the Greens, whilst the Conservative vote share fell, alongside that of Labour and Independents.

Hampshire County Council (HCC) is the county council that governs the majority of the county of Hampshire in England. It provides the upper tier of local government, below which are district councils, and town and parish councils. The county council has 78 elected councillors, and is based in the county town of Winchester. The 2012 Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council election took on 3 May 2012 to elect members of Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council in England, as part of the 2012 United Kingdom local elections. 22 seats, representing one third of the total Council membership, were up for election in single-member wards. Ten - nearly half - of the members elected were newcomers to the Council; five of these defeated sitting Councillors seeking re-election, whilst in the other five wards, the incumbent retired. Two incumbents stood under different labels to those they were elected under in 2008; both were defeated in their wards.

2017 Hampshire County Council election

The 2017 Hampshire County Council election took place on 4 May 2017 as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. All councillors were elected from electoral divisions by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. The electoral divisions were somewhat changed from the previous election, with some being split, merged or with boundary changes. No elections were held in Portsmouth and Southampton, which are unitary authorities and hold their elections in other years. Similarly the districts within Hampshire did also not hold elections this year.

2018 Lambeth London Borough Council election

The 2018 Lambeth London Borough Council election took place on 3 May 2018 alongside other local elections in London, to elect members of Lambeth London Borough Council in England. The election saw Labour remain in control of Lambeth Council with a slightly reduced majority, winning over 90% of the seats. The Green Party achieved its best-ever result in the borough, winning five seats and becoming the official opposition and the largest Green group in London.

The 2018 Oldham Council election took place on 3 May 2018 to elect members of Oldham Council in England. The election took place on the same day as other local elections in England. The election saw the majority Labour Party increase its number of seats by two. The Conservative Party also gained two seats, while the Liberal Democrats lost one seat. The 2019 Cheshire West and Chester Council election took place on 2 May 2019 to elect members of Cheshire West and Chester Council in England. This was on the same day as other local elections. Five fewer seats were contested because of boundary changes. No party gained overall control. The Labour Party gained a seat but lost control of the council; the Conservatives lost 8 seats, while the Independents gained 4, the Liberal Democrats gained 2, and the Green Party gained one.

Community Campaign (Hart) Political party in the United Kingdom

Community Campaign (Hart) (CCH) is a minor localist political party based in the district of Hart in the north east of Hampshire. Founded in 2003, it has contested both district and county elections within Hart, and has successfully gained representation in both the district council and county council. The first Community Campaign Hart councillors were elected in 2004, with numbers increasing over the next few years; as of 2020 there are now eleven. The party is currently in administration of the council in coalition with the Liberal Democrats, with 21 seats between them out of 33. Councillor James Radley is currently the Deputy Leader of the council, as well as holding portfolio for Finance & Corporate Services.

The 2022 Barnet London Borough Council election is due to take place on 5 May. All 63 members of Barnet London Borough Council will be elected. The elections will take place alongside local elections in the other London boroughs and elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom.
