The Borough of Brentwood is a local government district with borough status in Essex, England. The borough is named after its main town of Brentwood, where the council is based; it includes several villages and the surrounding rural area.
Brentwood and Ongar is a constituency in Essex represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Alex Burghart, a Conservative, serving since October 2022 as Parliamentary Secretary for the Cabinet Office.
One third of Brentwood Borough Council in Essex, England is elected each year, followed by one year where there is an election to Essex County Council. Since the last boundary changes in 2002, 37 councillors have been elected from 15 wards.
Chelmsford is a constituency in Essex represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Vicky Ford of the Conservative Party.
Elections to Brentwood Borough Council were held on 1 May 2008. One third of the council was up for election and the Conservative Party kept overall control of the council.
The 2010 Brentwood council election took place on 6 May 2010 to elect members of Brentwood District Council in Essex, England as part of the 2010 United Kingdom local elections. One third of the council was up for election with the council previously having a majority for the Conservative party. The Conservative Party lost two seats to the Liberal Democrats in Brentwood North and Brentwood West respectively.
Essex County Council in England is elected every four years. Since the last boundary changes in 2005, 75 councillors are elected from 70 wards.
An election to Essex County Council took place on 1 May 1997 as part of the 1997 United Kingdom local elections. 79 councillors were elected from various electoral divisions, which returned either one or two county councillors each by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. With the creation of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Thurrock Council in 1998 the number of seats contested at this election was reduced by 19. In 1993 the breakdown of these seats were, Lab 9 Con 5 LD 5.
The 1974 Hammersmith Council election took place on 2 May 1974 to elect members of Hammersmith London Borough Council in London, England. The whole council was up for election and the Labour Party stayed in overall control of the council.
Elections to Colchester Borough Council took place on 3 May 2018. Seventeen members of the council - one-third of the whole — were elected, one from each of the seventeen wards. It was the first standard election to take place following comprehensive boundary changes in 2016. This set of seats were last up for election in 2016, with the third-placed elected candidates being up for election in 2018.

The 2019 Allerdale Borough Council election took place on 2 May 2019, to elect all 49 members of Allerdale Borough Council in Cumbria, United Kingdom. The number of councillors had been reduced from 56 at the previous election, meaning several seats were combined. Four seats were uncontested, all of which were won by members of the Conservative Party. The result was a change in administration of the council, from a Labour Party minority to a coalition of Conservatives and independents. However, the council technically remains in No Overall Control.
