Etymology

The name Actinoallomurus derives from:
Greek noun actisactinos, ray, used to refer to actinomycetes; Greek adjective allos, different; Latin masculine gender noun murus, wall; Neo-Latin masculine gender noun Actinoallomurus, actinomycetes with a different wall. [2]
