Geography

The Auburn River enters the locality from the north (Sujeewong) and flows through the north-east of the locality, exiting to the north-east (Hawkwood). [4] The Auburn Homestead is located along the river ( 25°57′00″S150°37′00″E / 25.9500°S 150.6166°E / -25.9500; 150.6166 (Auburn (homestead)) ). [5] [6]

Apart from these protected areas, the land use is predominantly grazing on native vegetation. [7]

In the 2016 census, Auburn had a population of 26 people. [8]

In the 2021 census, Auburn had a population of 23 people. [1]

Education

There are no schools in Auburn. The nearest government schools are Monogorilby State School (Prep to Year 6) in Monogorilby to the east and Wandoan State School (Prep to Year 10) in Wandoan to the west. However, these schools would be too distant from most parts of Auburn. Also there are no nearby schools offering education to Year 12. The alternatives are distance education and boarding school.
