This list is intended to be a complete compilation of properties and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. Seven of the properties are further designated National Historic Landmarks.
The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company Warehouse is a historic formerly commercial building at 150 Bay Street in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. Built as a warehouse for The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) in 1900, it is the major surviving remnant of a five-building complex of the nation's first major grocery store chain. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978, and now houses a mix of residences and storage facilities.
The East Irvington School, or East Irvington Public School, is a former school building that served the neighborhood of that name in the town of Greenburgh, New York, United States as part of the Irvington School District. It was built in 1891 to educate the children of a growing population of Irish American laborers, and was expanded in 1925. The building continued to be used as a school until 1972. The brick building on Mountain Lane, with a rear entrance on Taxter Road, has since been converted to a condominium, but remains the oldest standing school building in the area. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Detroit–Columbia Central Office Building is a building located at 52 Selden Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan. It is also known as the Michigan Bell Telephone Exchange. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
The Liberty Tower, formerly the Sinclair Oil Building, is a 33-story residential building in the Financial District of Manhattan in New York City. It is at 55 Liberty Street at the northwest corner with Nassau Street. It was built in 1909–10 as a commercial office building and was designed by Henry Ives Cobb in a Gothic Revival style.
The Southwood Two-Teacher Schoolhouse is a historic school building located on Barker Hill Road just south of East Seneca Turnpike, in the Southwood neighborhood of the town of Onondaga, Onondaga County, New York. Further east along the turnpike is the hamlet of Jamesville, New York. It was built in 1937–1938, and is a one-story, yellow brick Art Deco style building, but the ivy hides any architectural details that would show that. The rectangular building has a full concrete block basement and is topped by a flat roof. It remained in use as a school until 1966.
The Potter Building is a building in the Financial District of Manhattan in New York City. The building occupies a full block along Beekman Street with the addresses 38 Park Row to its west and 145 Nassau Street to its east. It was designed by Norris G. Starkweather in a combination of the Queen Anne and neo-Grec styles, as an iron-framed structure.
Adolph Lomb House is a historic home located at Pittsford in Monroe County, New York. It is a large 1 1⁄2-story building with a gable roof oriented to the facade. It was built in 1907 of poured concrete faced in brick. It was built as the focal point of a large farm / summer estate for Adolph Lomb, eldest son of Henry Lomb (1848–1908), one of the co-founders of the Rochester-based optical company Bausch and Lomb.
Maine Central School, also known as J. Ralph Ingalls School, is an historic school building located at Maine in Broome County, New York.
Waverly Junior and Senior High School, also known as Mary W. Muldoon High School, is a historic school located at Waverly in Tioga County, New York. It is a three-story brick building with an attached two story wing on a solid concrete foundation built in 1913. The most dominant feature of the building is the entryway. It features a round headed archway flanked by cast stone Roman Doric columns and surmounted by a wide entablature with balustrade. It ceased being used as a school in 1967 and, for a period, was used for administrative offices for the system. It is now a 55+ apartment building called Muldoon Garden Apartments.
US Post Office-Cooperstown is a historic post office building located at Cooperstown in Otsego County, New York, United States. It was built in 1935-1936, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, Louis A. Simon. It is one story in front and two stories in the rear with and exposed basement. It is constructed of brick on a raised concrete foundation and limestone watercourse and beltcourse. The principal facade is symmetrically composed with a three bay pedimented central section faced entirely with ashlar limestone. The building displays Colonial Revival style details. The interior features a 1938 sculpture by artist Bela Janowsky depicting James Fenimore Cooper and two characters from his writings, Chingachgook and Natty Bumpo.
Peterboro Street Elementary School is a historic elementary school building located at Canastota in Madison County, New York. It was built in 1927 in the Gothic Revival style. It is a large brick and concrete building whose front facade features a broad, projecting central pavilion flanked by broad, two bay wings.
Jeffersonville School is a historic school building located at Jeffersonville in Sullivan County, New York. It was built in 1938-1939 and is a large, expansive, two story Georgian style central school with a below grade basement. The original building is a "T" shaped, steel frame and concrete structure with red brick and brickwork ornamentation and surmounted by a slate roof. Architect was H.O. Fullerton of Albany, New York. It is topped by a white, windowed cupola, a four sided clock tower, and a weather vane. It is operated by the Sullivan West Central School as an elementary school.
Ticonderoga High School is a historic high school building located at Ticonderoga in Essex County, New York. It was built in 1928-1930 and is a three-story, masonry neo-Georgian style building with a slate roof, concrete foundation, and brick walls. It features a semi-circular portico with Corinthian order columns and a balustrade and a copper polygonal cupola.
The Dillon Memorial is a historic structure located in LeClaire Park, near downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1983 and on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties in 1993. It is commonly referred to as the Dillon Fountain.
Cornell-Van Nostrand House, also known as Schumacher House, is a historic home located at New Hyde Park in Nassau County, New York. It was moved to its present location on the grounds of Clinton G. Martin Park in 1952. It is a two-story, architecturally mixed wood frame building containing an early 19th-century section, two mid-19th-century sections, and an early 20th-century addition. It is arranged in a "T" shaped plan on a concrete foundation with brick above grade. It features a single height portico with square Doric order columns and a simple entablature, built about 1850.
Benjamin Moore Estate, also known as Chelsea, is a historic estate located at Muttontown in Nassau County, New York. It was designed in 1923–1924 by architect William Adams Delano (1874–1960) for Benjamin Moore and Alexandra Emery. The manor house is an eclectic Chinese and French Renaissance style inspired dwelling. It is "U" shaped, two and one half stories high with hipped and gable roofs, covered with concrete block on a concrete foundation. The front facade features a steeply pitched roof, four large irregularly spaced chimneys, and a large brick tourelle with a conical roof. The property also has a contributing formal garden, gatehouse, picturesque roadways, garage, conservatory, octagonal gazebo, shed and tool house, and large open lawns.
The Drake University Campus Historic District is located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The historic district contains six buildings. Five of the buildings are collegiate buildings on the Drake University campus and one is a church. The period of significance is from when the university was founded in 1881 to the end of the presidency of Hill M. Bell in 1918. The historic district has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988. It is part of the Drake University and Related Properties in Des Moines, Iowa, 1881—1918 MPS.
Mastery Charter School Shoemaker Campus, formerly William Shoemaker Junior High School, is a historic high school/middle school located in the Carroll Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is currently a charter school run by Mastery Charter Schools.
The Chicago Great Western Railroad-Waterloo Freight Depot is a historic building located in Waterloo, Iowa, United States. In 1887 the Chicago, St. Paul & Kansas City Railroad (CSP&KC) was the third system to enter the city, after the Illinois Central (1870) and the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway (1876). The CSP&KC was the first of the three to put its depots in the downtown area. Initially it built two depots in Waterloo, one on the west side of the Cedar River and one on the east side. By 1892 it had built separate passenger and freight depots along East Sixth Street. That was the same year that the CSP&KC became known as the Chicago Great Western Railroad. In 1903 the railroad built new passenger and freight depots a block south, moving them closer to the city's wholesale houses. The two-story concrete block freight depot was built on a rough limestone foundation. It features round arch freight doors and a simple wood cornice. The concrete block addition on the southeast side replaced a frame gabled structure, but its construction date is unknown. The old brick passenger depot was torn down in 1973, and the freight depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. In 2001 the building, which is owned by the City of Waterloo, was leased to the University of Northern Iowa for its Center for Urban Education (UNI-CUE).
