Escopa III is a barangay of Quezon City. According to the 2015 Census, it has a population of 8,554 people. [2]

Etymology

During the liberation period, the place was known as Barrio Lata. The name of Escopa was derived from "ISCOPA", which means "1st Company of the Philippine Army". Later on, it was changed to "ESCOPA".

History

In 1978, the Interim Batasang Pambansa divided Escopa into four: Escopa I, Escopa II, Escopa III and Escopa IV. Escopa III was created on June 25, 1975, through Executive Order No. 29 (P.D. 26 and 210). [1]
