Arca South is a 74-hectare (180-acre) planned unit development owned by Ayala Land, Inc. located at East Service Road, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.

It was formerly part of Food Terminal Inc. before being sold to Ayala Land.

History

With the decline of FTI, established in 1974, there have been several attempts over multiple Philippines presidential administrations to sell off part of the property, including a public auction in 2009, but they all failed. [1]

In November 2012, the Philippine government announced the sale of the 74 hectares (180 acres) of the 120-hectare (300-acre) property to Ayala Land, Inc. for 24.3 billion. [2] [1] Ayala plans to turn the property into a mixed-use development. [2] Proceeds from the sale are pledged to the programs of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Agrarian Reform. The remaining 46 hectares (110 acres) remains in FTI. [2]

In 2013, Ayala Land renamed their property into Arca South. [3] Current construction of the mall is estimated to be completed by 2027, ten years after its initial target date.

Among its landmark projects is Forbes Town Center, a 6-hectare commercial and residential district in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, Metro Manila. Another project by Megaworld is the 45-storey Petron Megaplaza office skyscraper, which was the tallest building in the country upon its completion in 1998. Also, last May 31, 2016, Megaworld announced that they will build two more office towers, 10-storey One Republic Plaza, and six-storey Emperador House, in Davao City. The Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange, originally conceptualized as the South Integrated Transport System (ITS-South), is a proposed intermodal transport terminal in Arca South, Taguig. It is primarily a bus terminal for buses going to and from Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao but connected to the FTI station and the under-construction Metro Manila Subway. Originally scheduled for completion by 2022, construction has yet to begin as pre-construction activities were temporarily suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but it was lifted in July 2023.

San Martin de Porres is an administrative division in southern Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is unique in that it is connected to the rest of Parañaque by only two bridges, one of which is a footbridge. Its western border follows the South Luzon Expressway, thus separating it from Merville, Sun Valley, Don Bosco and Marcelo Green. It neighbors Western Bicutan to the north, particularly the redevelopment area of the former Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) known as Arca South. Greenfield District is a transit-oriented mixed-use development next to a rail station in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is a redevelopment of the old United Laboratories (Unilab) pharmaceutical plant and adjacent retail market in the village of Highway Hills adjoining the Kapitolyo village of Pasig to the east. The 15-hectare (37-acre) mixed commercial and residential complex is in the crossroads of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard immediately south of the Ortigas Center financial district. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Tutuban Center</span> Shopping complex/transit hub in the Philippines

Tutuban Center is a shopping complex and public transit hub in Manila, the Philippines that opened in 1993. It encompasses five retail buildings and a parking building in and around Manila's central train station located in the shopping precinct of Divisoria in Tondo district. The 20-hectare (49-acre) mixed-use development includes the original two-story brick and iron main terminal building of the Ferrocaril de Manila-Dagupan built in 1887, a declared national historical building by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines since 1934. It also includes the Bonifacio Plaza fronting the old terminal building on Recto Avenue where a statue of Andrés Bonifacio was erected in 1971. Its integrated mall complex houses a mix of wholesale and retail bazaars and covers only 8.5 hectares of the total 20-hectare development. The complex will house the interchange station between the proposed North–South Commuter Railway and an extension of the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2 according to the masterplan submitted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency in 2015. Its redevelopment plan also entails the construction of several mixed-use buildings, including office towers, residential buildings, hotels, a convention center, and a 300-metre (980 ft)-high observation tower to be known as the Tower of Maynila.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Seda Hotels</span>

Seda is a Philippine brand of hotels owned and operated by Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation. The first hotel under the Seda brand began operations on December 3, 2012 with the opening of Seda BGC at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. The hotel chain has 11 branches as of 2020, all located in the Philippines.
