Institute of Vocational Studies (IVS) is the main campus of the Awadh Group of Institutions. It is located at Awadh Bhawan FC-31, Institutional Area, Sheikh Sarai-II, New Delhi, India. [1] It has a campus spread over one acre of land. The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University under the name of Institute of Vocational Studies. [2] [3]

History

Awadh Centre of Education was established in 1995, to improve quality standards of education to all whether they are socially backward or belong to minority communities in particular. In 1999 the college started the Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine & Allied Sciences (IRMAS) followed by the Institute of Vocational Studies (IVS) in 2003–04. [4]

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education)

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is an undergraduate two-year professional degree programme which prepares students for work as school teachers. [5] The institute is recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India and approved by Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The institute is affiliated to GGSIPU under the name of Institute of Vocational Studies [6] and nationally accredited with "A" grade by NAAC in 2011. [7]

ETE (Elementary Teacher Education) is the two-year diploma in elementary teacher education.

The University Grants Commission of India is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education. It provides recognition to universities in India, and disbursements of funds to such recognized universities and colleges. The headquarters are in New Delhi, and it has six regional centres in Pune, Bhopal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bangalore. A proposal to replace it with another new regulatory body called HECI is under consideration by the Government of India. The UGC provides doctoral scholarships to all those who clear JRF in the National Eligibility Test. On an average, each year 725 crore (US$96 million) is spent on doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships by the commission.

University School of Law & Legal Studies is one of the constituent schools of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Established in 2001, it is an institution dedicated to law and was the first state government law school in Delhi. It is constantly rated in the top 15 government law schools in India offering a 5 year course. It is also rated in the top 5 law schools in Delhi NCR. The acceptance rate of USLLS is incredibly low, given the less number of seats and large number of applicants. USLLS was also ranked 12 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Bhai Parmanand Institute of Business Studies (BPIBS) is a government higher education institute located in New Delhi, India. It grants various postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, being affiliated to Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU).
