The Selway River is a large tributary of the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River in the U.S. state of Idaho. It flows within the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, the Bitterroot National Forest, and the Nez Perce National Forest of North Central Idaho. The entire length of the Selway was included by the United States Congress in 1968 as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.

The Clearwater Mountains are part of the Rocky Mountains, located in the panhandle of Idaho in the Western United States. The mountains lie between the Salmon River and the Bitterroot Range and encompass an area of 8,499 square miles (22,012 km2).

Stripe Mountain is the highest point in both the South Clearwater Mountains and the Clearwater Mountains as a whole, part of the Bitterroot Range and Rocky Mountains in the panhandle of Idaho in the Western United States. Its summit is at an elevation of 9,001 ft (2,744 m) and the mountain's ridgeline forms the boundary of Idaho County and Lemhi County. The Idaho County portion of the mountain lies within the Bitterroot National Forest and the Lemhi County portion of the mountain lies within the Salmon-Challis National Forest, and the entirety of the mountain lies within the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area.

The Jackson Mountains are a north-northeast trending mountain range in southwestern Humboldt County, Nevada. The range is flanked on the west by the Black Rock Desert and the Black Rock Range beyond. To the north across the Quinn River and Nevada State Route 140 lie the Bilk Creek Mountains. To the northeast across Kings River Valley is the Double Mountains and to the east are the Sleeping Hills. To the southeast and south lie the Eugene and Kamma Mountains. The ghost town of Sulphur lies just southwest of the pass between the Jackson and Kamma ranges. Nevada State Route 49 and the Union Pacific railroad Feather River Route traverse this pass.

The Salmon River Mountains are a major mountain range covering most of the central part of the U.S. state of Idaho. The range is over 120 miles (190 km) long and its boundaries are usually defined by the Salmon River and its large tributary forks. Part of the central Rocky Mountains, the entire range lies west of the Continental Divide of the Americas and drains to the Snake River. The highest peak is White Mountain, at 10,442 feet (3,183 m) above sea level. There are five peaks over 10,000 feet (3,000 m) high, and there are three major subranges defined by other forks of the Salmon River: the West, Central and East Salmon River Mountains.

The Centennial Mountains are the southernmost sub-range of the Bitterroot Range in the U.S. states of Idaho and Montana. The Centennial Mountains include the Western and Eastern Centennial Mountains. The range extends east from Monida Pass along the Continental Divide to Henrys Fork 48 km (30 mi) NNW of Ashton, Idaho; bounded on the west by Beaver Creek, on the north by Centennial Valley and Henrys Lake Mountains, on the east by Henrys Lake Flat, and on the south by Shotgun Valley and the Snake River Plain. The highest peak in the range is Mount Jefferson.

They are a sub-range of the Bitterroot Range, and divide Beaverhead County, Montana from Lemhi County, Idaho and Clark County, Idaho.

Merriam Peak, at 10,920 feet (3,330 m) is one of the peaks of the White Cloud Mountains of Custer County, Idaho. It was named for John H. Merriam who played an instrumental role in protecting the area from being mined for molybdenum. Merriam Peak is located in the middle of the range just north of Castle Peak, the highest point in the range. The peak is located in the White Clouds roadless area of Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

Big Creek Peak, at 11,350 feet (3,460 m) above sea level is a peak in the Lemhi Range of Idaho. The peak is located in Lemhi County on the border of Caribou-Targhee National Forest and Salmon-Challis National Forest. It is about 1.1 mi (1.8 km) northwest of Flatiron Mountain and 23.7 mi (38.1 km) northwest of Bell Mountain, its line parent. It is the 55th highest peak in Idaho.

Flatiron Mountain, at 11,109 feet (3,386 m) above sea level is a peak in the Lemhi Range of Idaho. The peak is located in Lemhi County on the border of Caribou-Targhee National Forest and Salmon-Challis National Forest. It is about 1.1 mi (1.8 km) southeast of Big Creek Peak.
