Idols was a television show on the South African television network Mzansi Magic, and previously on M-Net, based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show was a contest to determine the best young singer in South Africa.

Bonginkosi Dlamini, popularly known as Zola 7, is a South African kwaito musician, actor, writer, TV presenter, and poet. Dlamini began his career as an actor, achieving national recognition for the television series, "Yizo Yizo". He also starred in the Academy Award winning film Tsotsi in 2005, for which he also wrote the musical score.

Big Brother Mzansi, formerly known as Big Brother South Africa, is a television series in South Africa produced by M-Net and Endemol. As of 2022, it has had a total of six seasons. Big Brother South Africa had two seasons, and a celebrity season in between. The first season aired in 2001 and the second in 2002. Both seasons were directed by Leon Coetzer and hosted by Mark Pilgrim.

Dineo Ranaka is a South African radio personality, television presenter, actress, DJ, and TV producer.

Bonang Dorothy Matheba, is a South African award-winning television presenter, radio personality, actress and social media personality. She is known for her flamboyant presenting skills and her signature voice. She presented the SABC 1 music show LIVE which built her spotlight in the industry. She is also known for being the first Black South African to be featured on numerous magazines.

Thando Thabethe is a South African actress, and Radio DJ who was the presenter for the television show Thando Bares All on channel TLC and current drive time host on 947. She is Nivea's first brand ambassador in Africa. In 2019, Thando was named one of Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30. She is also the host of 947 Drive With Thando.

Somizi Buyani Mhlongo is a South African media personality, television presenter, actor, choreographer and socialite. In 1992, he appeared on the musical and political film, Sarafina! which gained him prominence. Mhlongo became lead dramatist numerous shows and events, including the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Notably, he broke new ground as the first African to helm a reality TV show on MTV Africa "@Lasizwe: Fake It Till You Make It," garnering three successful seasons in less than two years. This trailblazing journey earned him a spot on the esteemed Forbes 30 Under 30 list, solidifying his impact on the African entertainment landscape.

Khanyisile Mbau is a South African actress, musician, television presenter and socialite. She received recognition as the second Doobsie on SABC 2's soap opera Muvhango (2004–2005); as Mbali in the SABC 1 soap opera Mzansi and SABC 1's mini-series After Nine. As of 2018, She is the host of the SABC 3 entertainment show The Scoop and The Big Secret on BET Africa, and plays Tshidi on Mzansi Magic's Abomama.

The 2018 DStv Mzansi Viewers' Choice Awards were held on 24 November 2018, at Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg.

Mzansi Magic is a South African digital satellite and general entertainment channel created by Multichoice and run by M-Net's local interest division, and is broadcast on DStv.

Isibaya is a South African television drama series that started production in 2013, premiering on Mzansi Magic and created by Angus Gibson, Desiree Markgraaff, Teboho Mahlatsi, Catherine Stewart and Benedict Carton. Siyabonga Thwala leads the male cast as Mpiyakhe Zungu and Thembi Nyandeni leads the female cast as Mkabayi "MaNcwane" Zungu.

The 2020 DStv Mzansi Viewers' Choice Awards were the 3rd annual DStv Magic Viewers Choice Awards that took place on March 14, 2020, at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg. The event recognized the biggest achievements in television, radio, music, sports, and comedy in South Africa.

Albertina Jaxa is a South African actress.

The seventeenth season of South African Idols premiered on 11 July 2021 and concluded on 21 November 2021 on the Mzansi Magic television network. The season was won by Berry Trytsman and the runner-up was Karabo Mathe.

Thobani Nzuza, is a South African actor, director, playwright, vocalist and dancer. He is best known for the roles in the television serials eHostela, Uzalo and DiepCity.

Vinolia Mashego, popularly known as V-Mash, was a South African actress, television host, MC and entertainer. She is best known for the roles in the television serials such as Muvhango and Isibaya as well as presenting the 90s musical program Jam Alley.

Jabu Christopher Kubheka, was a South African actor and model. He is best known for the roles in the television serials such as; Yizo Yizo, Zone 14 and Vat 'n Sit.

Black Motion is a South African afro house duo from Soshanguve, Gauteng, founded in 2010. The group is composed of Bongani Robert Mahosana (former), Roy Thabo Mabogwane and Kabelo Koma.
