Lomax is a neighborhood of La Porte, a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. Lomax once was a separate community.
The community was named after R.A. Lomax, a native of Illinois who went to the area in 1885 and donated land for a school.
Lomax incorporated in 1952 and became a city in 1966. In 1980 it was merged into the city of La Porte.
Like all areas of La Porte, Lomax is in the La Porte Independent School District.

La Porte is a city in LaPorte County, Indiana, United States, of which it is the county seat. Its population was estimated to be 21,341 in 2022. It is one of the two principal cities of the Michigan City-La Porte, Indiana metropolitan statistical area, which is included in the Chicago–Naperville–Michigan City, Illinois–Indiana–Wisconsin combined statistical area.

Shoreacres is a city located in Harris County in the U.S. state of Texas alongside State Highway 146. Established with a mayor-alderman form of city government, it was incorporated in 1949. The population was 1,566 at the 2020 census.
Port Bolivar is an unincorporated community located on the northern shore of the western tip of the Bolivar Peninsula, separated from Galveston Island by the entrance to Galveston Bay. The Bolivar Peninsula itself is a census-designated place, in Galveston County, Texas, and part of the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The entire peninsula was severely damaged during Hurricane Ike on September 13, 2008; re-building efforts were still continuing as late as 2013.

North Shore is a community in east side of Harris County, Texas with a small portion inside the city of Houston, Texas. The area includes subdivisions such as Songwood, Holiday Forest, Wood Bayou, Cimarron, Home Owned Estates, Woodland Acres, Hidden Forest, Pine Trails, Woodforest, Woodforest North, New Forest, and New Forest West, as well as newer neighborhoods near Highway 90 and Beltway 8 North Sam Houston Parkway.
Braeburn is a community of subdivisions in southwest Houston, Texas along Brays Bayou west of Hillcroft Avenue and south of the Sharpstown community. The first of these middle class subdivisions was developed after World War II at a time when the Richmond Farm-to-Market Road provided the route into the city, rather than U.S. Highway 59. Development continued into the 1970s. The Braeburn Country Club is located in the center of the community. Subdivisions found here include Robindell, Braeburn Terrace, Braeburn Glen, Larkwood, Braeburn Valley, Bonham Acres, Braes Timbers and—the acreage lot subdivision—Brae Acres. The area also includes commercial and multi-family developments. Braeburn is notable for its large number of mid-century modern homes, tree lined streets, and location close to the Galleria, the Texas Medical Center, Reliant Park, the major freeways- 59, 610 and the Beltway. The communities of Braeburn have in recent years formed the Braeburn Superneighborhood, a coalition of Home Owner Associations, in order to interact more effectively with the City of Houston and other area agencies. The Brays Bayou hike and bike trail runs through the community, providing easy access to over 15 miles of excellent trails.

Rufus Cage Elementary School is an elementary school in Eastwood, a neighborhood in the East End district of Houston, Texas. It is a part of the Houston Independent School District (HISD). It serves a section of Eastwood. Founded as the Kirby School in 1902, it transitioned from a county school to a municipal school. The school, renamed after the death of the benefactor who donated land for the school, occupied a building dedicated in 1910 until its current campus opened in 1983, with the exception of the period 1914–1925, when the building was used as an apartment complex. The 1910 building is now a City of Houston historic landmark and is owned by the city government.
