King Ceasor University formerly St. Augustine International University SAIU is a multi-campus university. It maintains the following campuses: [1]
The main campus is located in the neighborhood of Bunga, in Makindye Division, one of the five administrative divisions of Uganda's capital city, Kampala. This location lies approximately 8 kilometres (5.0 mi), by road, southeast of the city's central business district. [2] The approximate coordinates of the main campus of St. Augustine International University are:0°16'21.0"N, 32°37'19.0"E (Latitude:0.272500; Longitude:32.621944). [3]
The Kisoro campus is located in the southwestern Ugandan town of Kisoro, approximately 465 kilometres (289 mi), by road, southwest of Kampala. [4] The campus is close to Saint Francis Hospital Mutolere, in Mutolere, which will serve as one of the teaching hospitals of the university.
The Mulago campus is located on Mulago Hill, in Kawempe Division, in northern Kampala, approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi), by road, north of the city's central business district. [5] This location is adjacent to Mulago National Referral Hospital, another teaching hospital of the university.
The Namugongo campus is located at Namugongo, Kira Town, Wakiso District, approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi), by road, northeast of downtown Kampala. [6] The location lies close to the shrines of the Uganda Martyrs, with streams flowing through the campus. The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine will be based here.
SAIU is a private university in Uganda, established in 2011. It is accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education, the national body that licenses institutions of higher education in the country. [7] The multi-campus university is one of a number of private universities accredited between 2010 and 2014. [8] The founding vice chancellor of the university is Charity Basaza Mulenga, an electrical and computer science engineer trained at Makerere University in Uganda and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST), commonly known as Mbarara University, is a public university in Uganda. Mbarara University commenced student intake and instruction in 1989. It is one of the eight public universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country. MUST is accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education.

As of January 2015, total student enrollment exceeded 5,000. Of these, about 1,500 students were residential, while nearly 3,000 students were enrolled in UMU's distance learning programs. The number of staff members was over 400.

As of 2021, 11 universities in Uganda offer medical schools. Admission to medical school requires the candidate to have attained a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) as well as proficiency in Biology or Zoology, Chemistry and Physics at A-level standards. Training leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) lasts five years. Major examinations are conducted after the first, second and fifth year, with additional evaluations after each clinical rotation. After successful completion of the fifth year, candidates complete a year of internship under the supervision of specialists. Postgraduate training is available at Makerere University School of Medicine in a number of medical and surgical disciplines. The training takes three years and leads to the Master of Medicine (MMed) degree.
