Busitema University (BU) is a university in Uganda. It is one of the eight public universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country. [3] It has different six campuses around the country. [4]

BU has its main focus on the instruction of agricultural sciences, agricultural mechanization, and agribusiness. [5] That is Engineering, Science Education, Health Sciences, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Management Sciences and Vocational Education [6] .

Location

BU has its main campus in Busitema, Busia District on the Jinja - Tororo Highway, about 26 kilometres (16 mi), by road, southwest of Tororo, the nearest large town. [7] This location lies approximately 186 kilometres (116 mi), by road, east of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. [8] The coordinates of the university's main campus are 0°32'42.0"N, 34°01'30.0"E (Latitude:0.5450; Longitude:34.0250). [9]

Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, commonly known as Mbale Hospital is a hospital in Mbale, Eastern Uganda. The hospital also serves many more patients from outside the hospital's catchment area.

The Busitema University Faculty of Health Sciences (BUFHS), also known as the Busitema University Medical School (BUMS) and the Busitema University School of Medicine (BUSM), is the school of medicine of Busitema University, one of Uganda's public universities. The medical school is one of the newer medical schools in the country, having been part of university since 2013. The school provides medical education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Jinja–Iganga–Bugiri–Tororo Road is a road in the Eastern Region of Uganda, connecting the towns of Jinja and Tororo. Sometimes referred to as Tororo–Jinja Road, it is a busy transport corridor, connecting traffic from neighboring Kenya, and northeastern Uganda to Jinja, a major commercial and industrial center, and ultimately to Kampala, the country's capital and points beyond.
