University of El Imam El Mahdi is a public Sudanese university based in the town of Kosti, Sudan. The university was founded in 1994 as a public university funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. [4] It is named in honor of Muhammad Ahmad al-Mahdi, the leader of the Mahdist revolution which overthrew the Ottoman-Egyptian administration and established their own "Islamic and national" government in Sudan (1885–1898).
Since its establishment, the university has striven to realize its goals in providing academic environment conducive to excellent teaching, learning, and research. In line with policy of the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Education, it endeavors to contribute to social, cultural and economic development of the local community and the whole country through the development and implementation of relevant curricula and academic programmes.
The university was founded in 1994 with three faculties: Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technological Studies, and Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Sciences. It Then developed to include following faculties

In addition to the accomplishment of its academic and research missions, the University of Elimam El Mahdi is mindful of its role in the contribution to the service of the community and catering for its economic, social and cultural needs. It is considered the highest authority at the university and its chancellor is appointed by a republican decree after a recommendation of the minister of higher education and scientific research.
It is formed from the chancellor and members according to their jobs in the university, the chancellor, the university vice chancellor, the principal in addition to a number of faculties' deans who represent teaching staff, laborers and students, with twenty one members from outside the university.
Making the policies and plans that drive at promoting the university and developing its performance scientifically, educationally, administratively and financially beside modernizing work systems, discussing the annual budget suggestions, making the development plans and establishing faculties, institutes, schools and centers.
An executive and financial affairs committee derived from the university council and it is formed from council chancellor, vice chancellor, deputy vice chancellor, the principal as a rapporteur of the committee, the financial controller, four members from the university and five members from outside the university.

The University of Khartoum is a public university located in Khartoum, Sudan. It is the largest and oldest university in Sudan. UofK was founded as Gordon Memorial College in 1902 and established in 1956 when Sudan gained independence. Since that date, the University of Khartoum has been recognized as a top university and a high-ranked academic institution in Sudan and Africa.
Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) (Arabic: جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية), commonly known as Al-Imam University, is a public university in the sub-municipality of Shemal in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1950 as an Islamic seminary by Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ash-Sheikh, the first Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia. It was renamed the College of Sharia in 1953, before becoming a full-fledged university through amalgamations of other colleges and assuming its current name in 1974. The University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) is a co-educational mainly medical oriented college in Khartoum, Sudan. The mission of UMST is to serve the educational needs of Sudanese, African and Arab students. It is located in the Riyad district of Khartoum. It first opened its doors in 1995 with a student body of only forty students and two faculties. In 2017 it had become home to 5,000-6,000 students and costs US$15,000 for the school of medicine in 2018. The university has 14 faculties. In 2014 the University stated that 60% of its students were foreign.
Alexandria University is a public university in Alexandria, Egypt. It was established in 1938 as a satellite of Fouad University, becoming an independent entity in 1942. It was known as Farouk University until after the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, when its name was changed to the University of Alexandria. Kosti is one of the major cities in Sudan that lies south of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and stands on the western bank of the White Nile river opposite Rabak ,the capital of the White Nile state and is connected to it by a bridge. The city is served by Kosti Railway Station and Rabak Airport. The population of Kosti as of 2012 was estimated at 345,068 people.
The Imam al-Mahdi Scouts is a youth movement that was established in Lebanon on 5 May 1985 by the political and paramilitary organization Hezbollah. It is named for Muhammad al-Mahdi.

The University of Kufa is one of Iraqi universities located in Kufa, Iraq. It was founded on December 23, 1987 of only two faculties; Education for Women and Medicine. Worthy mentioned that the Faculty of Medicine was established roughly a decade earlier and it was affiliated to Al-Mustansiriyah University.
