Dedan Kimathi Waciuri was the senior military and spiritual leader of the Mau Mau Uprising. Widely regarded as a revolutionary leader, he led the armed military struggle against the British colonial regime in Kenya in the 1950s until his capture in 1956 and execution in 1957. Kimathi is credited with leading efforts to create formal military structures within the Mau Mau, and convening a war council in 1953. He, along with Baimungi M'marete, Musa Mwariama, Kubu Kubu, General China and Muthoni Kirima, was one of the Field Marshals.
Nyeri is a town situated in the Central Highlands of Kenya. It is the county headquarters of Nyeri County. The town was the central administrative headquarters of the country's former Central Province. Following the dissolution of the former provinces by Kenya's new constitution on 26 August 2010, the city is situated about 150 km north of Kenya's capital Nairobi, in the country's densely populated and fertile Central Highlands, lying between the eastern base of the Aberdare (Nyandarua) Range, which forms part of the eastern end of the Great Rift Valley, and the western slopes of Mount Kenya.

Joint Admission Board of Kenya (JAB) was the body that was mandated to conduct a joint admission exercise of students who have cleared secondary school into the Universities. The main aim was to ensure that only those who have attained a certain number of points are given priority to join the universities under a government sponsorship. The admission exercise was done annually at the beginning of every academic year and students who sat their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) the previous year are the ones considered.

She was previously Chief Executive Officer Secretary of State's Corporations Advisory Committee Between 15 March 2013 to 14 October 2019 for a cumulative period of six years seven months; served as the Secretary to the Presidential Task Force on Parastatal Reforms (Head of Secretariat) between 23 July 2013 to 9 October 2013, for a cumulative period of three months; served as the Secretary to the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Parastatal Reforms (Head of Secretariat); served as the Chairperson On The Taskforce on Developing a Handbook for State Owned Entities on Corporate Ethics and Business Integrity (Spearhead Reform Continentally) and led Kenya to gain admission to the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD) as a member of the State Owned Entities Network for Southern Africa and continuously serves in the Kenyan Public Service.
