Harold Perrin was elected mayor of Jonesboro in 2008 and reelected in 2012. In 2016, he successfully ran for reelection again, and continued serving until 2020.

On October 11, a debate was held between the seven candidates in a partnership between KAIT and Talk Business & Politics. It was moderated by Talk Business & Politics's Roby Brock. [1]
