The Ferrari 296 (Type F171) [4] is a sports car built since 2022 by the Italian company Ferrari. The 296 is a two-seater, offered as a GTB coupe and a GTS folding hard-top convertible. It is a plug-in hybrid with a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and its powertrain combines a twin-turbocharged 120-degree bank angle V6, with an electric drive fitted in between the engine and gearbox.[ clarification needed ] The 296 can be driven in electric-only mode for short distances, to comply with use in urban zero-emission zones.
Unveiled on 24 June 2021, [5] the 296 is Ferrari's first stock model with 6-cylinders other than the Dino 206 GT, 246 GT and 246 GTS cars produced by Ferrari but sold under the Dino marque. Its power pack puts out a combined 830 PS (610 kW; 819 hp), giving the 296 a power-to-weight ratio of 560 hp/ton.
The 296 GTB was presented as the first "real Ferrari with just six cylinders on it" on 24 June 2021. Previously, such models were both designed and built by Ferrari, but marketed as a new, entry-level Dino brand, below Ferrari's exclusively V12-model policy, until 1974. The new car went on sale in 2022. The 296 in the model name reprises the original Dino's naming scheme, indicating the engine's displacement and the number of cylinders. GTB stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta. [6] [7]
The 296 GTB is powered by a 2,992 cc (3.0 L) twin-turbo 120° V6 engine with a maximum output of 488 kW (654 hp; 663 PS) at 8,000 rpm, in combination with a 123 kW (165 hp; 167 PS) and 232 lb-ft of torque electric motor. The system output is given as 830 PS (819 hp; 610 kW) and has a combined torque of 546 lb-ft at 6,250 rpm. A high-voltage accumulator positioned under the floor with an energy capacity of 7.45 kWh (26.8 MJ) enables an electrical range of 25 km (16 mi). The sports car accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, and the top speed is specified as over 330 km/h (205 mph). [7]
The Assetto Fiorano is the track-oriented version of the 296 GTB.
The 296 GTS is an open-top variant of the 296 GTB with a folding hardtop. The top takes 14 seconds for operation and can be operated with speeds up to 45 km/h (28 mph). The GTS weighs 70 kg (154 lb) more than the GTB due to chassis reinforcing components but maintains equal performance.
To promote the launch of the 296 GTB, Ferrari collaborated with Epic Games in July 2021 to add the Ferrari 296 GTB as a drivable vehicle to the online battle royale video game Fortnite Battle Royale , as part of Chapter 2: Season 7 of the game. [8] The 296 GTB was removed from the game after the end of the season in October 2021. [9]
In 2022, Ferrari introduced the 296 GT3, intended to replace the Ferrari 488 GT3 from 2023 onwards. [10] The car made its racing debut at the 2023 24 Hours of Daytona.
On 21 May 2023 the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Frikadelli Racing won the 2023 24 Hours of Nürburgring, completing a total of 162 laps and setting a new distance record. [11] On 28 January 2024, the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Risi Competizione achieved the GTD PRO class victory at the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona. [12] On September 15, 2024, the No. 54 Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 took the LMGT3 class victory at the 2024 6 Hours of Fuji. [13] [14] On 2 November 2024, the No.55 Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 archived the second LMGT3 class victory at 2024 8 Hours of Bahrain. [15] On November 30, 2024, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Alessio Rovera won the drivers' championship in the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with the No.51 Ferrari 296 GT3. [16] While AF Corse won the teams' championship in the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Furthermore the No.93 Ferrari 296 GT3 of team Sky – Tempesta Racing took both the drivers’ and teams championships in the Bronze class at the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. [17]
Ferrari plans to release an Evo version of the 296 GT3 in 2026. [18]
In February 2023, the Ferrari 296 Challenge was first spotted testing at Monza. [19] The car was later unveiled during the 2023 Ferrari Finali Mondiali in October. The car made its debut in the 2024 Ferrari Challenge. [20]
The Ferrari F430 is a sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari from 2004 until 2009 as a successor to the Ferrari 360. The car is an update to the 360 with exterior and performance changes. It was unveiled at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. The F430 was succeeded by the 458 which was unveiled on 28 July 2009. An estimated 16,750 F430s were produced between 2005 and 2009.
The Ferrari 308 GTB berlinetta and targa-topped 308 GTS are V8 mid-engined, two-seater sports cars manufactured by the Italian company Ferrari from 1975 until 1985. The 308 replaced the Dino 246 GT and GTS in 1975 and was updated as the 328 GTB/GTS in 1985. The similar 208 GTB and GTS were equipped with a smaller, initially naturally aspirated and later turbocharged, two-litre engine, and were sold mainly in Italy.
The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a front-engine V12 2-seat grand tourer built by Ferrari from 1996 to 2002. The 550 Maranello marked Ferrari's return to a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout for its 2-seater 12-cylinder model, 23 years after the 365 GTB/4 Daytona had been replaced by the mid-engined Berlinetta Boxer.
The Ferrari Dino engine is a line of mechanically similar V6 and V8 engines produced by Ferrari for about 40 years from the late 1950s into the early 2000s.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is an Italian mid-engine sports car produced by Ferrari. The 458 is the successor of the F430, and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was succeeded by the 488 GTB in 2015.
Group GT3, known technically as Cup Grand Touring Cars and commonly referred to as simply GT3, is a set of regulations maintained by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) for grand tourer racing cars designed for use in various auto racing series throughout the world. The GT3 category was initially created in 2005 by the SRO Motorsports Group as a third rung in the ladder of grand touring motorsport, below the Group GT1 and Group GT2 categories which were utilized in the SRO's FIA GT Championship, and launched its own series in 2006 called the FIA GT3 European Championship. Since then, Group GT3 has expanded to become the de facto category for many national and international grand touring series, although some series modify the ruleset from the FIA standard. By 2013, nearly 20 automobile manufacturers have built or been represented with GT3 machines.

Car Guy Racing is an auto racing team based in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, established by Takeshi Kimura in 2016. The team currently competes in the European Le Mans Series under collaboration with Kessel Racing, fielding the No. 9 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo in the GT300 class and the No. 57 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in the LMGTE class respectively. Car Guy is also scheduled to compete in GT World Challenge Asia with a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo in the GT3 class.
The Ferrari 488 GTE is a grand tourer racing car built by Ferrari's in-house Competizioni GT unit, for competition in endurance racing. It was served as a replacement for the Ferrari 458 Italia GT racing car, using the Ferrari 488 GTB as a base. The car is built in accordance with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest/FIA LM GTE regulations introduced for the 2016 season, and it formerly competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series and in the GTLM class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship. The car had its race debut at the 2016 24 Hours of Daytona, with the Scuderia Corsa and Risi Competizione teams.

The Ferrari Tipo F163 engine is a 3.0-liter, 120°, twin-turbocharged V6 internal combustion piston engine, made by Ferrari. It is Ferrari's first turbocharged 6-cylinder engine designed and developed for road car use.
Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab is an Italian auto racing team founded by Andrea Piccini, Deborah Mayer, Claudio Schiavoni and Sergio Pianezzola. The team is based in Cesena, Emilia-Romagna. They currently operate two racing teams in the form of Iron Lynx and Iron Dames, who both primarily participate in sports car racing. Iron Lynx are also currently partnered with Lamborghini in operating their Lamborghini SC63 LMDh prototype.
SRO GT2 is a class of grand tourer racing cars maintained by the SRO Motorsports Group. Despite the name, this class slots between GT4 and GT3 in terms of performance. The cars have more power than GT3 cars, with the most powerful entries at nearly 700 horsepower. However, they don’t have anywhere nearly as much downforce as a GT3 car. It also shouldn’t be confused with the Group GT2 from the early 2000s, which evolved into the now-defunct LM GTE class. The class uses a balance of performance to allow for close competition between competitors.

The introduction of the 499P marks 50 years since Ferrari last fielded a factory-backed sports prototype that contested for the overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and one of the 499Ps raced with the number 50 as a tribute.
Giorgio Roda is an Italian racing driver who currently competes in the LMGT3 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship with Proton Competition. He has attained multiple successes in GT racing, winning the 2014 International GT Open in the GTS class, taking the European Le Mans Series title in LMGTE in 2018 and winning the 2020 Italian GT Endurance Championship.
Triarsi Competizione is an American sports car racing team that currently competes in the GTD class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the Ferrari Challenge North America. The team was founded by race car driver Onofrio Triarsi Jr.
