The George Klindt House is a historic building located in the West End of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983. [1]
George Klindt became a partner in the Mengel & Klindt Brewery in 1891. He succeeded his father Henry who had partnered with George Mengel in 1876. Davenport's breweries merged in 1894 and became the Davenport Malting Company. George Klindt became the new company's secretary-treasurer. Built from 1894 to 1895, this house was the third of three houses built on Marquette Street for the partners of the brewery. [2] George Mengel's house was at 826 and Henry Klindt's house was at 834.
The George Klindt House is a two-story structure that follows a square plan with a corner wing on the back of the house. It features a Mansard roof and pedimented dormers, which are typical of the Second Empire style. The enclosed porch and sedimented pediment on the front indicates that this house is from a later date of the style. [2] The house is located on a high hill above the street. There is a large carriage house/garage with a gambrel roof behind the house.
St. Katherine's Historic District is located on the east side Davenport, Iowa, United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the location of two mansions built by two lumber barons until it became the campus of an Episcopal girls' school named St. Katharine's Hall and later as St. Katharine's School. The name was altered to St. Katharine-St. Mark's School when it became coeducational. It is currently the location of a senior living facility called St. Katherine's Living Center.

In 1999, it was listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties The historic district is where the city's middle and upper-income German community built their homes in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Germans were the largest ethnic group to settle in Davenport.
The Henry Kahl House is a historic building located on a bluff overlooking the West End of Davenport, Iowa, United States. What was a private residence was converted into a nursing home in 1955, and a senior apartment facility in 2016. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 7, 1983. In March 2023 Zillow stated the building had an assessed value of $166,000.

The William Claussen House was a historic building located in the West End of Davenport, Iowa, United States. The Greek Revival style house was built in 1855 and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983. It has subsequently been torn down and replaced by a single-story house.
