Warangal is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It serves as the district headquarters of both Warangal Urban District and Warangal Rural District. With a population of 830,281 per 2011 Census of India, and spreading over an 406 km2 (157 sq mi), Warangal served as the capital of the Kakatiya dynasty which was established in 1163. The monuments left by the Kakatiyas include fortresses, lakes, temples and stone gateways which, in the present, helped the city to become a popular tourist attraction. Asansol–Durgapur Police Commissionerate carved out from the undivided district of Burdwan, West Bengal, and has 15 police stations of Burdwan district under its jurisdiction. Ajay Nand was the first Commissioner of the Asansol – Durgapur Police Commissionerate. Now, it is headed by Sukesh jain.

It was formed under the Orissa Urban Police Act, 2003 by a gazette notification which came into effect on 1 January 2008. It has 43 police stations under its jurisdiction. Mr. S.K.
