This is a list of basins, camping grounds, lakes, mountains, mountain passes, outposts, plains, rivers, ruins, settlements, streams, valleys, villages, and other geographical features located in (or partially included in) the sparsely populated Aksai Chin region administered by China . (Originally a part of India but occupied by China). The alternate language names of locations in the Aksai Chin area are included for reference.

Intersections and waysides

On some maps, the road intersections in the region are also referred to with the simple named "(blank)岔口" where "(blank)" is the Chinese initial of the destination, and 岔口 simply means "road fork". For example, 天岔口, 河岔口, and 空岔口 for the road forks to Tianwendian, Heweinan, and Kongka Pass respectively.

Pishan County as the official romanized name, also transliterated from Uyghur as Guma County, is a county within the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and is under the administration of the Hotan Prefecture. It contains an area of 39,412 km2 (15,217 sq mi). According to the 2002 census, it has a population of 220,000. The county borders Maralbexi County and Makit County to the north, Karakax County, Hotan County and Kunyu to the east and Kargilik County to the west. The county includes lands near the Karakoram Pass which are part of the Aksai Chin area that is disputed between China and India.

Tatrang, Tatirang is a town in Qiemo / Qarqan County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, China.

Risum Township or Risong Township (simplified Chinese: 日松乡; traditional Chinese: 日松鄉; pinyin: Rìsōng Xiāng), traditionally called Roksum in English, is a township of Rutog County, in far western Tibet Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China. It is directly serviced by China National Highway 219. The closest airport is the Ali Kunsha Airport.

The Galwan River flows from the disputed Aksai Chin area administered by China to the Union Territory of Ladakh, India. It originates near the caravan campsite Samzungling on the eastern side of the Karakoram range and flows west to join the Shyok River. The point of confluence is 102 km south of Daulat Beg Oldi. Shyok River itself is a tributary of the Indus River, making Galwan a part of the Indus River system.

Ulugqat Township is a township of Ulugqat County (Wuqia) in Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Located in the middle north of the county, the township covers an area of 3,430 square kilometers with a population of 4,430. It has 4 villages under its jurisdiction. Its seat is at Korgan Village (库尔干村).

Barin Township, also spelled Baren Township, is a township of Akto County (Aketao), Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture (Kezilesu), Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The township is located on the western edge of the Taklamakan Desert, at the foot of the Pamir Mountains. Located in the middle west of the northeastern part of the county, the township covers an area of 1,087 square kilometers with a population of 38,706. It has 19 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Its seat is at Barin Village (巴仁村).

Kizilto is a town of Akto County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Located in the southeastern part of the county, the town covers an area of 3,882 square kilometers with a population of 9,700. It has 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Its seat is at Ordolung'ozu Village.

Pilal is a township of Akto County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Located in the west of the northeastern part of the county, the township covers an area of 186 square kilometers with a population of 46,981. It has 22 administrative villages and a farm under its jurisdiction. Its seat is at Pilal Village (皮拉勒村).

Qarlung, Charlung is a town of Akto County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Located in the southeast of the county, the town covers an area of 3,242 square kilometers with a population of 5,258. It has 5 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.

Ujme / Ojma is a town of Akto County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Located in the northeast of the county, the town covers an area of 194 square kilometers with a population of 26,107. It has 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Its seat is at Hoylaerik Village (霍伊拉艾日克村).

Jiya is a township in the northeastern part of Hotan City in Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang, China in an oasis area on the eastern bank of the White Jade River in the southwestern part of the Taklamakan Desert. To the north and east, Jiya borders Lop County, the county which Jiya was a part of until 2006, and to the south and west, Jiya borders the rest of Hotan city.

Tso Tang is an alkaline lake located in the disputed territory of Aksai Chin in Hotan Prefecture of Xinjiang province of China.

Jianan Pass is a mountain pass in the eastern Karakoram Range near the Chang Chenmo Valley. The Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China runs through the pass dividing the Indian-administered Ladakh and Chinese-administered Aksai Chin. The pass lies on the watershed between Kugrang and Galwan river basins. The Changlung river basin is also immediately to the east of the pass. While China uses the name "Jianan Daban" for the pass, India refers to it as Patrol Point 15 (PP-15) for border security purposes. The term "Hot Springs" has also been used by Indian media through misapplication of terminology.
