Below is a table containing the twenty tallest buildings in the state of Alabama. The tallest building in the state is the RSA Battle House Tower, which was completed in 2007. The list includes ten in Birmingham, five in Mobile, and two or less in any other city.

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians own and operate two high rise hotels on tribal land in Alabama located in Wetumpka and Atmore. They are not included in this list despite the fact their height surpasses other listings.

It replaces the Shipt Tower in Birmingham as the tallest building in Alabama and the RSA–BankTrust Building as the tallest in Mobile. The building is named for the neighboring Battle House Hotel, which is now part of the tower complex. The Battle House Hotel was restored and renovated as part of the tower project.

The Shipt Tower is a 34-story, 454-foot (138 m) tall office building in Birmingham, Alabama. Built in 1986 as the corporate headquarters for SouthTrust Corporation, the building was known as the SouthTrust Tower until 2005, when SouthTrust completed its merger with Wachovia and it became the Wachovia Tower. It became the Wells Fargo Tower in September 2010 after Wells Fargo completed its purchase of Wachovia and a new logo was placed atop the building. Shipt, a local start-up and subsidiary of the Target Corporation announced in January 2019 that it would become the anchor tenant of the building in 2020. The Tower was rebranded as the Shipt Tower on May 23, 2020, when corporate signage was placed atop the tower.

The RSA Trustmark Building, originally the First National Bank Building, is a 34 story, 424-foot (129 m) International Style office tower located in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Most recently known as the AmSouth Bank Building, it had been named in honor of its largest tenant until 2006, AmSouth Bancorporation. It was renamed the GM Building by its new owner, Retirement Systems of Alabama, in 2009. Following a lease agreement with BancTrust Financial Group and its community bank subsidiary, BankTrust, it was renamed again, this time to the RSA–BankTrust Building. BancTrust Financial Group was purchased in 2013 by Trustmark Corporation, a Mississippi based financial institution. The building officially became the RSA Trustmark Building. Trustmark occupies 72,000 square feet (6,700 m2) of the tower, including the lobby floor and floors 25 through 31.

The Van Antwerp Building is a high-rise in the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. Completed in 1907, the building rises 11 stories and was the first skyscraper in the city. It is regarded as the first reinforced concrete skyscraper in Alabama and the Southeastern United States. In the early 21st century, the 120-foot (37 m) structure is the 8th-tallest building in Mobile.

The Merchants National Bank Building, previously known as the "First Alabama Bank Building" and more recently the "Regions Bank Building" is a high-rise in the US City of Mobile, Alabama. Completed in 1929, the building rises 236 feet (72 m) and 18 stories. Upon its completion, the Merchants National Bank Building became the tallest building in Mobile, the seventh-tallest building in the state of Alabama, and the tallest skyscraper in the state outside Birmingham. The building remained the tallest in the city until the completion of the RSA–BankTrust Building in 1965. The Merchants National Bank Building now stands as the 6th-tallest building in Mobile.

The Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel, formerly known as the Adam's Mark Hotel, is a high-rise hotel in the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. Completed in 1983, the building rises 277 feet (84 m) and 28 stories. The Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel is the second-tallest building and largest hotel in Mobile and the tallest hotel in the state of Alabama.

Mobile Government Plaza is a high-rise in the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. The building is owned by Mobile County Commission and has several tenants including the City of Mobile and local courts Completed in 1994 at a cost of US$73 million, the building rises 325 feet (99 m) and 12 stories at its highest point. The roof of the building is the site of two twin architectural spires that are included in the tower's overall structural height. Government Plaza is tied with the Mobile Marriott as the 4th-tallest building in Mobile and the 10th-tallest in Alabama. It also stands as the tallest government building in the state.

The Waterman-Smith Building is a high-rise in the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. It was built by the Waterman Steamship Corporation in 1947, and rises 230 feet (70 m) and 16 stories. The Waterman-Smith Building is the 7th-tallest building in Mobile, and is an example of early modern architecture.

The Colonial Brookwood Center is a 9-story Class A office building located in the Birmingham, Alabama suburb of Homewood. The office building was previously owned by Colonial Properties Trust and was a part of the company's Colonial Brookwood Village development. Construction on the building began in 2006. The building consists of 9 floors, 4 of which contain parking and retail, and 5 that contain corporate offices.

The Coastal States Building is a high-rise office building located at 260 Peachtree Street in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The building was completed in 1971, and designed by Sidney R. Barrett & Associates. It has 27 floors. The building underwent a $28 million renovation that was completed in 2001. It is similar in design to Regions Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
