Mohammad Yousaf (Urdu: محمد یوسف) is a Pakistani politician and Member of Senate of Pakistan, serving as Chairperson-Senate Committee on Petroleum anResources.

Urdu —or, more precisely, Modern Standard Urdu—is a Persianised standard register of the Hindustani language. It is the official national language and lingua franca of Pakistan. In India, it is one of the 22 official languages recognized in the Constitution of India, having official status in the six states of Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, as well as the national capital territory of Delhi. It is a registered regional language of Nepal.

Political career

He belongs to Baluchistan province of Pakistan, and was elected to the Senate in March 2012 on a general seat as Pakistan Peoples Party candidate. [1] [2] He is the chairperson of Senate Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources and member of senate committees of Interior and Narcotics Control, National Food Security and Research, Inter-Provincial Coordination. [3]

The Pakistan Peoples Party is a left-wing, socialist-progressive political party of Pakistan. Affiliated with the Socialist International, Its political philosophy and position, in the country's political spectrum, is considered centre-left, and involves supporting public ownership, egalitarianism, equality, and a strong national defence. Since its foundation in 1967, it had been a major and influential political left-wing force in the country and the party's leadership has been dominated by the members of the Bhutto family. Its centre of power lies in the southern province of Sindh.
