Sainik School Gothra, is located in village of Gothra Tappa Khori of Rewari District of Haryana state, is one of 33 Sainik Schools in India. [6] [7] [8] [9] The Principal is Col. Soumyabrata Dhar, the Vice-Principal is Wg Cdr Sunaina Chahar 1& Adm Officer is Major Avinash kumar. [10]
School is located at Gothara Tappa Khori on NH-11 Rewari-Narnaul highway.
On 29th Aug 2008, Defence Minister of India, AK Antony, had inaugurated the school.
In Feb 2020, phase-I construction of the school was complete and Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, approved INR 20.83 crore for the construction of phase-II which includes the internal roads, parking, rainwater harvesting system, boundary wall, street lights and security lights. [11]
In Feb 2021, it as informed the pending minor construction work will be completed by 31 March 2021. Academic block was constructed at the cost of INR13.50 cr, mess block with INR 3 cr, hostel for 570 students with INR 9.15 cr, 12 feet high boundary wall with INR 4 cr, were complete. INR 19 cr tender for construction for roads and parking and other pending was issued on 3 March 2021. [12]
Joining NDA is an ambition for most of the students. In Sept 2018, 40 cadets of Sainik School Rewari had passed the NDA written exam and proceeded to SSB Interview phase.
NDA selection is done in two stages: a single competitive examination for all three forces, followed by an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board. An entrance examination is conducted to select students. [14]
The Sainik Schools are a system of public schools in India established and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under Ministry of Defence (MoD). They were conceived in 1961 by V. K. Krishna Menon, the then Defence Minister of India, to rectify the regional and class imbalance amongst the officer cadre of the Indian Military. The primary objective of the Sainik Schools is to prepare students academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA). Sainik Schools, along with 1 RIMC and 5 RMS, contribute 25% to 30% officer cadets to NDA and INA. As of 2021, there were 33 Sainik Schools, and MoD will establish 100 more boarding Sainik Schools in public–private partnership (PPP) mode.

Sainik School, Kunjpura in the state of Haryana, one of the first five Sainik Schools established in 1961 in India, is jointly operated by the Government of Haryana state and GoI's Ministry of Defence. The Sahibi river, also called the Sabi River, is an ephemeral, rain-fed river flowing through Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi states in India. Hisar Airport, officially known as Maharaja Agrasen International Airport is a DGCA-licensed public airport serving Hisar in Haryana state of India. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the city center on NH-9. The airport is planned to be upgraded to an international airport by 2030. It will eventually see the development of a new MRO, aerospace university, aerospace and defense manufacturing industrial zone, logistics and food parks, etc. over an area spread across 10,000 acres (4,000 ha). In 2021, the total cost of planned upgrade in 3 phases, including the actual spend and future approved allocations, is nearly ₹5,200 crore.
