Addison Rae Easterling (born October 6, 2000) is an American social media personality, singer, and actress. She rose to prominence on TikTok in 2019, amassing over 88 million followers, making her the third most-followed woman on the platform, as of 2025. She has appeared in films including the Netflix comedy film He's All That (2021) and the horror film Thanksgiving (2023).
Rae began her music career with the 2021 single "Obsessed", which was panned by critics; it was included on her better received EP AR (2023). She signed with Columbia Records in 2024 and released the single "Diet Pepsi", which earned positive reviews and peaked at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100. She released her self-titled debut album the following year, which was similarly praised and reached number four on the Billboard 200.
Addison Rae Easterling [2] [a] was born on October 6, 2000, [3] [4] and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, to parents Monty Lopez and Sheri Easterling. [3] Rae has two younger brothers, Enzo Lopez and Lucas Lopez, [5] and an older half-sister, Macye Neumeyer, who has two daughters of her own. Rae's parents initially divorced when she was younger and were on and off often throughout her childhood, before remarrying in 2017, later divorcing again in 2022. [6]
Rae started dancing competitively at the age of six where she attended competitions across the country. [3] Before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career, the social media star briefly attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where she studied broadcast journalism in the fall to become a sports broadcaster but then dropped out when she began to gain popularity on TikTok. [7] In an interview with Elle magazine, Rae talked about her choice to move to Los Angeles, saying: "a few people in LA reached out to me, and I was like 'I need to go. I need to go.' So my parents supported me fully." [8]
Rae first gained attention after joining the social media app TikTok in July 2019, uploading dance videos to trending songs on the platform. [9] She was a part of the TikTok collective The Hype House in December 2019 for a brief period of time. [10] Within a few months, Rae gained over one million followers on the app, leaving LSU in November. [11] As of October 2025, she has amassed 88.3 million followers on the app. [12] She later signed with talent agency WME in January 2020. [13] In July, Addison released a weekly Spotify-exclusive podcast alongside her mother, Mama Knows Best, covering their personal and career lives. [14] Rae later relaunched this podcast under the name That Was Fun?. [15]
In March 2021, Rae released her debut single, "Obsessed" marking her first venture into the music industry. [16] The single was critically panned, [17] and was intended to be the lead single for her then-upcoming project but was temporarily shelved. [18] That same year, Rae launched her own cosmetics line, Item Beauty, but it discontinued in 2023. [11] [19] Rae also founded her own fragrance line. [20] In August, Rae made her feature film debut as Padgett in the Netflix comedy film He's All That (2021), a remake film of the 1999 teen comedy She's All That . [21] The film was the most streamed film on its release week, [22] but debuted to generally negative reviews from critics. [23] [24] [19]
In February 2022, it was announced that Rae had joined the cast of a film titled Fashionista, produced by Paramount. [25] That same month, multiple songs from her unreleased EP leaked on YouTube, which Rae initially thought "could mark the death knell for her music career". [18] However, the tracks gained traction online, which spurred her to release her debut extended play AR on August 18, 2023. [26] The EP received generally positive reviews, [27] [18] and debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. [28] In November, Rae appeared as Gaby in the slasher film Thanksgiving (2023). [29]
In March 2024, Rae featured on Charli XCX's remix of "Von Dutch" which went on to appear on Charli XCX's remix album Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat (2024). [30] [31] Rae also appeared on A. G. Cook's album Britpop (2024) on a song titled "Lucifer" with Charli XCX. [26] In August 2024, Addison Rae released her first major label single, "Diet Pepsi", through Columbia Records. [32] The song received positive reviews and fared critically and commercially well. [33] The song went on to peak at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100 marking Rae's first entry. [34] Rae performed the song live at Madison Square Garden with Troye Sivan and Charli XCX on the Sweat tour. [35] In October 2024, Rae released the single "Aquamarine". [36] A remix of the song with Arca was released a month later. [37]
In January 2025, during an interview with Rolling Stone , Rae confirmed that she would be releasing her debut studio album in 2025, [38] with Pitchfork, writer Meaghan Garvey calling it one of the most anticipated pop releases of the year. [39] In February, Rae released the single "High Fashion" and its accompanying music video. [40] Following the single's release, she was featured on the cover of Vogue France . [41] In April 2025, Rae performed "Aquamarine / Arcamarine" at Coachella with Arca and also announced the release date for her upcoming debut studio album for June. [42] Rae's debut album, Addison , was eventually released on June 6, 2025, and was preceded by the release of the additional singles "Headphones On" and "Fame Is a Gun". [43] The album found critical [44] and commercial success, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200. It sold 48,500 album-equivalent units in its first week, consisting of 23,000 pure album sales and 25,500 streaming equivalent album units from 33 million streams. [45] On June 17, Rae announced she would embark on her first headlining tour, The Addison Tour, with dates in Europe, North America and Australia, from August through November 2025. [46] In October 2025, Rae appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, performing Diet Pepsi wearing a sparkling gold gown first worn by the burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee in the 1950s. [47]
She appeared in the third season of Netflix's Monster: The Ed Gein Story as Evelyn Hartley. [48] Rae is set to star in Animal Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds and Aubrey Plaza, which is set to be released on May 1, 2026. [49] [50] [51]
Music critics have categorized Rae's music as dance-pop, bubblegum pop, and synth-pop. Rae is influenced by many artists including Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Sophie, Arca, and Charli XCX. [18] [52] In a conversation with Interview magazine, Rae muses on her influences, "I love a woman who does it all… I love a girl that does it all with no filter, it's just ingrained in me." [52]
Vogue notes that Rae has received attention from music fans online for her unexpectedly eclectic taste; artists like "FKA Twigs, Yves Tumor, and Kelela" appear on her playlists which stylistically "span recent avant-garde hip-hop to the cream of '00s Timbaland-produced R&B." [18] In a trailer video for her debut self-titled album, Rae acknowledged that she is "not the same person you used to know," [53] alluding to her social media rebrand.
In an interview with W Magazine , Rae shared that for her first label meeting with Columbia Records, she brought a binder filled with printed photos, colors, and words. Before the album had any sound or music, it existed purely as a collection of visions, visuals, and words. Rae also described the creation of Addison , saying, "It was a very fun and free-flowing environment. There was no pressure to force ourselves to make an album or a certain number of songs. It just happened gradually over time." [54]
Since her rise on TikTok, Rae has partnered with various companies such as Reebok, L'Oréal, Lululemon, and YSL Beauty. [55] [56] [57] Rae has an estimated net worth of $25 million, earning over $5 million in the year 2020 alone. The fragrances come in bottles that change color with temperature, offering a sensory or novelty element, each described with fruity, floral, or fresh woody notes. [60] [61] Rae co-founded Item Beauty, a cosmetics and skincare brand. The brand promoted clean, cruelty-free, and vegan-friendly products that were dermatologist-tested. As of 2023, the brand was discontinued. [62] In 2022, Rae partnered with Alani Nu to make her own energy drink, 'Berry Pop'. [63]

[67] [68] In August 2025, Rae announced a collaboration with Lucky Brand. The partnership debuted with the Addison Ultra Low Rise Flare, a style inspired by early 2000s fashion. Fans noticed Rae had already been wearing the jeans during her live performances leading up to the launch. Together, Rae and Lucky Brand set out to bring back the Y2K aesthetic "with the goal of turning low-rise skeptics into believers." [69] [70]
In March 2020, Australian rapper The Kid Laroi released the song "Addison Rae", which was named after Rae and became popular on social media. [71] Followed by this, Rae appeared in Lil Mosey's "Blueberry Faygo" music video. [72] [73] Later that year, Rae was mentioned by rapper Lil Yachty on his song "E-ER", which sparked a feud between him and Rae's then–boyfriend, Bryce Hall. [74]
In August 2022, Rae faced backlash for a post she made wearing the "Holy Trinity" bikini, a collaboration between Adidas and the brand Praying, which sported the words "Father" and "Son" on its bra and "Holy Spirit" on its bottom. It was considered offensive by some Christians and she later took the post down. [75] [76]

All lives cannot matter until Black lives do. I will never stop growing, learning, and fighting for those whose voices rightfully need to be amplified, and will forever believe that Black Lives Matter." [87]
In July 2021, a viral video posted by the Nelk Boys showed Rae introducing herself to and shaking hands with then-former President Donald Trump at UFC 264. [88] [89] Rae denies being a Trump supporter and saying, "I mean, I don't support Trump. And if someone does, that's their opinion and I respect everyone's opinions, for each their own. But it’s very rare on occasion that you ever get to meet a former president, and I think most people could agree with me on that. It’s very uncommon. And I consider myself a friendly person, and so introducing myself does not mean I stand behind anything that any respective person condones." [90]
Rae endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. [91] In a 2025 interview with Vogue France , Rae said that Trump had "created the problem" of TikTok's ban in the United States and, in reference to his second presidency, that it was "unbelievable to see how quickly one can abuse a newly acquired power." She has learned to value her privacy, noting that “privacy becomes really important over time.” Rae admitted that “being misunderstood is definitely annoying,” but added, “I think over time, I've realized that if somebody's commenting that 'I'm not this' or 'This is not who I am,'” she has learned not to take it personally. She also reflected on her early fame, saying that when she moved to Los Angeles at 19, she was still “figuring out who [she] was.” [98]
