BreakTudo Awards (commonly known as BT Awards or BTD Awards [6] ) is a Brazilian awards created in 2016 [7] show that takes place annually, honoring the year's biggest achievements in music, [8] film, television, [9] and Brazilian internet content. [10] Voting takes place through the official website and Twitter. [11] [12] It was the first Brazilian award to be conferred on a K-pop [13] [14] group. In 2020, it received 94 million votes. [15] [16] [17] The list of nominees for the award is chosen by entertainment professionals in Brazil and by the ceremony's organizing body, taking into account several criteria, [18] including those that stand out most in their areas of expertise. Only the "Best Reality Star" category receives nominations from the public. [19] In 2021, the awards ceremony will take place on October 21 in the studio due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will be broadcast simultaneously by TV Cidade, Telemilênio Brasil and Yeeaah. [20] [21]
In 2017, BreakTudo Awards became the first Brazilian award [22] [23] ceremony to put K-pop groups on its list of nominees. That year, BTS won International Group and Fandom of the Year, thus helping the popularization of K-pop music in Brazil. [24] [25] [26] In 2018, the MTV Millennial Awards Brazil and Prêmio Jovem Brasileiro also placed K-pop artists on their nominee lists. [27] [28] [29]
In 2020, [30] the awards were held on 24 October. The ceremony was broadcast from Telemilênio Brasil, and several Brazilian artists performed at the event. Among them were: Francinne, [31] Gabi Martins, MTK, RIELL, Nanda Loren, Pedro Arcafra, and Giovanna Bianco. [32] [33] Brazilian singer and YouTuber Escarião hosted the ceremony. [34]

The 2017 BreakTudo Awards took place on 18 October. Twenty-two categories were voted on, beginning on 1 September and running until 15 October. [45] Singer Anitta was the most nominated artist. [46]
Part of the list of nominees was selected by the public through a vote that occurs normally in the month of May. [47] [48] [49] The full list of nominations for the awards was announced on 25 August through the official website. Anitta led the list with 5 nominations, followed by BTS, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Cardi B, and Camila Cabello, with 4 nominations each. [50] [51]
The BreakTudo Awards 2021 will be held on 21 October 2021 in Rio de Janeiro. Ivete Sangalo [52] will be honored with the Ícone Pop Brasileiro award in recognition of her achievements in Brazilian pop culture during her 27-year caree. [53] Voting for the awards began on August 16. [54] [55]

"Acelera Aê " is a song performed by the Brazilian recording artist Ivete Sangalo, taken from her third live album Multishow ao Vivo: Ivete Sangalo no Madison Square Garden. Written by Gigi, Magno Sant'Anna, Fabinho O'Brian e Dan Kambaiah, the song is an axé pop song, that talks about getting ready for a great event. It was released as the album's lead single on August 20, 2010, in the digital download format in many countries, such as Brazil, Belgium and Portugal. The song reach number ten on the Brazilian charts.

Escarião was the host of the award ceremony and Anitta received the tribute "BreakTudo of Brazilian Pop Icon", in honor of her achievements in pop music in Brazil. Francinne, MTK, RIELL and Gabi Martins are among the artists who performed. On September 22, just a few days after polling started, the official Twitter profile of the award announced that the 50 million vote mark was hit.
Giulia Bourguignon Marinho, known professionally as Giulia Be, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. She gained recognition in 2018 when she signed with Warner Music Brasil and released the track "With You" with Brazilian DJ Zerb. At the beginning of 2019, she got her first hit "Too Bad", the song was the soundtrack of the 9:00 am soap opera "O Sétimo Guardião" by Rede Globo, the main soap opera in the country at the time. In the same year, she got her second hit "Menina Solta", number #1 in Portugal, top 10 in the Brazilian chart, and top 1 on the Spotify chart in Portugal and top 50 in Mexico.
