Bigyromonada is a recently proposed non-photosynthetic subphylum of stramenopiles that at present contains two classes [2] [3] [4] and with uncertain monophyly. [2] [5] [6] [7] [8]

Description

Bigyromonads are characterized by biciliate cells that feed on bacteria through phagotrophy. They are marine organisms. [2]
