The River Tern is a river in Shropshire, England. It rises north-east of Market Drayton in the north of the county. The source of the Tern is considered to be the lake in the grounds of Maer Hall, Staffordshire. From here it flows for about 30 miles (48 km), being fed by the River Meese and the River Roden, until it joins the River Severn near Attingham Park, Atcham.

Walcot railway station was a station in Walcot, Shropshire, England. The station was sited on the Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury line west of Wellington (Shropshire) and opened on 1 June 1849. It closed on 7 September 1964, along with the other intermediate stations on this stretch of line. The station was demolished after closure and no trace now remains.

Porthywaen Halt railway station was a station in Porth-y-waen, Shropshire, England, on the Tanat Valley Railway and the Potteries, Shrewsbury and North Wales Railway. The station opened in 1903 and closed in 1951. The short platform had a shelter and there was also signal box at the east end which controlled access to the quarry branches. Cambrian Heritage Railways has plans to re-open the station as part of its aim of reopening the line from Gobowen to Blodwel.The platform is still extant.

The halt was situated to the east side of a gated level crossing and on the south side of the line opposite the crossing keeper's cottage. It was made of timber and had a waiting shelter. The halt has been demolished but the crossing keeper's cottage remains as a private residence.

The River Strine is a 3.4-mile-long (5.4 km) tributary of the River Tern flowing through the Telford and Wrekin district of Shropshire in England. The river drains the Weald Moors a fenland area north of Telford, and also takes runoff from Newport and Lilleshall. Tributaries of the Strine include the Pipe Strine, Red Strine, and Wall Brook.
