Jeedipalli Reservoir is an irrigation project located in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, India. [1] It receives water from Handri-Neeva canal which draws water from Srisailam reservoir. [2] It is located in Jeedipalli village of Beluguppa mandal. [3]

Details

The project was started as a part of the Jalayagnam program. It was inaugurated on 29 November 2012 by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kiran Kumar Reddy. [4] It is located near Jeedipalli village of Beluguppa mandal. [5] The reservoir with gross storage capacity of 1.7 tmcft is located in Penna River basin. This reservoir acts as balancing reservoir to supply Krishna River water in Penna, Krishna and Palar River basins in Ananthapur, Kadapa and Chittoor districts of Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh. [6] Water is further pumped from this reservoir to feed the Bhairivani Tippa reservoir located in Vedavati River basin which is a tributary of Krishna river.

The Polavaram Project is an under construction multi-purpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in the Eluru District and East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. The project has been accorded National project status by the Central Government of India. Its reservoir back water spreads up to the Dummugudem Anicut and approx 115 km on Sabari River side. Thus back water spreads into parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha States. Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project is the longest water canal project in the region of Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, India. The project was conceived to provide a reliable irrigation and drinking water supply for the region through drawing flood waters from the Srisailam reservoir.

Velugodu Reservoir is a balancing reservoir and located across the Galeru river, a tributary of Kundu River in Penner River basin, at Velugodu town in Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh. This reservoir is part of Telugu Ganga project and mainly fed by gravity canal from back waters of Srisailam Dam through Pothireddypadu head / flow regulator located across the feeder canal. Velugodu Reservoir has gross storage capacity of 16.95Tmcft at 265 m MSL full reservoir level.

Penna Ahobilam Balancing Reservoir(PABR) is an irrigation project located across Penna River in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh state in India. Anantapur city gets its drinking water from the PABR. The reservoir with live storage capacity of 305 million cubic metres is mainly fed by Tungabhadra high level canal originating from the Tungabhadra Dam to the extent of 10 Tmcft water. A 20 MW hydro electric power station is also constructed at the dam site.

Jogulamba Barrage is a proposed barrage across Krishna River with full pond level (FPL) 274m. It would be located at Veltoor village, Peddamandadi mandal, Wanaparthy district, Telangana, India. This barrage is proposed to divert 3 TMC of water via lift to Yedula Reservoir being built as part of Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. This would also provide water for Dindi Lift Irrigation Project and Mahatma Gandhi Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme.
