Initially announced for a December 11th release, The Count of Monte Cristo , the most expensive French film of the year, was brought forward a little over five months to June 28th in late January. It was noted that the film would thus be able take advantage of the Fête du cinéma promotional event beginning two days later, but would also be competing for attention with the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament happening at the same time. The Gaumont Film Company, often shortened to Gaumont, is a French film production and distribution company headquartered in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Founded by the engineer-turned-inventor Léon Gaumont (1864–1946) in 1895, it is the oldest extant film company in the world, established before other studios such as Pathé, Titanus (1904), Nordisk Film (1906), Universal, Paramount, and Nikkatsu.
Christmas Carole is a 2024 French Christmas comedy film directed by Jeanne Gottesdiener in her feature directorial debut. Gottesdiener co-wrote the script with Julie Ponsonnet based on the 2022 PAGE Award Bronze winning English-language screenplay Nutcrackers by American author Chrissy Lessey. The film stars Noémie Lvovsky and Didier Bourdon in the lead roles. After screening at various film festivals, it is scheduled for wide theatrical release on 14 November 2024 in Germany and on 18 December 2024 in France, Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland.

Xilam is a French animation studio which specializes in making animated television series and feature films. Marc du Pontavice and his wife Alix founded it in 1999 as a replacement for the animation division of Gaumont Multimédia, which was itself an offshoot of the company's television division Gaumont Télévision, a company he co-founded in 1990. Gaumont continued to have a deal with Xilam until 2003. Gaumont Multimédia was a video game publisher until closing in 2004.

The Empire is a 2024 apocalyptic science fiction comedy-drama film written and directed by Bruno Dumont. It is a parody of the Star Wars franchise and Hollywood blockbusters in general, set in Dumont's home region of northern France.
