United Nations Security Council resolution 1121, adopted unanimously on 22 July 1997, after recalling that the maintenance of international peace and security was one of the main purposes of the United Nations, the council established the Dag Hammarskjöld Medal, named after the second Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld, awarded posthumously to United Nations peacekeepers.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1105, adopted unanimously on 9 April 1997, after recalling Resolution 1082 (1996), the Council decided to suspend reduction of the military component of the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force (UNPREDEP) in Macedonia until the end of its current mandate, until 31 May 1997.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1119, adopted unanimously on 14 July 1997, after recalling previous resolutions on Croatia including resolutions 779 (1992), 981 (1995), 1025 (1995), 1038 (1996), 1066 (1996) and 1093 (1997), the Council authorised the United Nations Mission of Observers in Prevlaka (UNMOP) to continue monitoring the demilitarisation in the Prevlaka peninsula area of Croatia until 15 January 1998.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1136, adopted unanimously on 6 November 1997, after recalling Resolution 1125 (1997) regarding the situation in the Central African Republic, the Council authorised the continuation of the Inter-African Mission to Monitor the Implementation of the Bangui Agreements (MISAB) mission in the country for a further three months.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1140, adopted unanimously on 28 November 1997, after recalling resolutions 1110 (1997), the Council renewed the mandate of the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force (UNPREDEP) in Macedonia for four days until 4 December 1997, pending further discussions. Resolution 1142 (1997) later extended UNPREDEP until 31 August 1998.

United Nations Security Council resolution 1156 was adopted unanimously on 16 March 1998, after recalling Resolution 1132 (1997) on the situation in Sierra Leone and noting the return of the democratically elected President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah; the council, acting under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, terminated petroleum sanctions on the country, though an arms embargo remained in effect.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1159, adopted unanimously on 27 March 1998, after reaffirming resolutions 1125 (1997), 1136 (1997), 1152 (1998) and 1155 (1998), regarding the situation in the Central African Republic, the council established the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic (MINURCA).
United Nations Security Council resolution 1162, adopted unanimously on 17 April 1998, after recalling resolutions 1132 (1997) and 1156 (1998) on the situation in Sierra Leone, the Council authorised the deployment of 10 United Nations military liaison and security advisory personnel to ascertain the situation in the country.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1168, adopted unanimously on 21 May 1998, after recalling resolutions 1031 (1995), 1035 (1995), 1088 (1996), 1103 (1997), 1107 (1997) and 1144 (1997), the Council strengthened the International Police Task Force (IPTF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina by up to 30 posts to a total strength of 2,057.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1175, adopted unanimously on 19 June 1998, after recalling all previous resolutions on Iraq, including resolutions 986 (1995), 1111 (1997), 1129 (1997), 1143 (1997), 1153 (1998) and 1158 (1998) concerning the Oil-for-Food Programme, the Council noted that Iraq was unable to export petroleum or petroleum products sufficient to produce US$5.256 billion worth of oil and authorised countries to provide Iraq with equipment to allow it to meet that sum.
United Nations Security Council resolution 1182, adopted unanimously on 14 July 1998, after reaffirming resolutions 1125 (1997), 1136 (1997), 1152 (1998), 1155 (1998) and 1159 (1998) regarding the situation in the Central African Republic, the Council extended the mandate of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic (MINURCA) until 25 October 1998.
