There are several newly established medical schools in mainland China which have not been authorised to confer the MBBS so far, they might be in the next years:
Hunan University is a public university in Yuelu, Changsha, Hunan, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education. The university is part of Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction.
Fujian Medical University is a university located in Fuzhou, Fujian, China. Fujian Medical University was founded in 1937, named Fujian Provincial Medical Vocational School at that time. The name of the school was changed to Fujian Provincial Medical College in 1939 and was called Fujian Medical College in 1949. In 1969, after merging with Fujian Chinese Traditional Medical College and the medical department of Huaqiao University, Fujian Medical University was founded and moved to Quanzhou, Fujian. It was moved back to Fuzhou in 1978. The name of the school was changed back to Fujian Medical College in 1982 and then changed back to the present name in April 1996.
Zhengzhou University is a provincial public university in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. It is affiliated with the Province of Henan. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction. Medical College of Suzhou University is the medical college of Soochow University. The college dating back to Nantung Medical Academy founded in 1912 is one of the oldest medical schools in China. It was moved to Suzhou in 1957 and renamed Suzhou Medical College, then the college and Soochow University merged into the new Soochow University in 2000.
The Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a public university in China. Founded in 1956, it is one of the first traditional Chinese medical institutions for higher learning in China. Peking Union Medical College, also as Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, is a national public medical sciences research institution in Dongcheng, Beijing, China. Originally founded in 1906, it is affiliated with the National Health Commission. The college is part of the Double First-Class Construction. The school operates the Peking Union Medical College Hospital and hosts a joint 8-year clinical medicine science degree program with Tsinghua University.
Foshan University is a designated full-time comprehensive university in Foshan, Guangdong province, China. It was also named as Foshan Science and Technology College or Foshan Institute of Science and Technology in the translation of English until 2023.

The Hubei University of Medicine is a public university in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, China. Founded in 1965, it was originally known as Wuhan Medical College Yunyang School (武汉医学院郧阳分院). The school was established in a remote mountainous area in northwestern Hubei, and has developed into the premier medical university in the adjacent areas of Hubei, Chongqing, Shaanxi and Henan provinces.
Duan Shumin is a Chinese neuroscientist. He completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at Bengbu Medical College, and his Ph.D from Kyushu University. Then he did his postdoctoral research at University of Hawaii and University of California, San Francisco. From 2000 to 2009 he served as a principal investigator in Institute of Neuroscience in Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was elected a member of CAS in 2007, and of TWAS in 2008.
