The Pratapgarh district is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh state of India, and Pratapgarh city is the district headquarters. Pratapgarh district is a part of Prayagraj division. The total area of Pratapgarh district is 3730 Sq. km.
The University of Lucknow is a public state university based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 1867, the University of Lucknow is one of the oldest government owned institutions of higher education in India. LU's main campus is located at Badshah Bagh, University Road area of the city with a second campus at Jankipuram. It is the largest state university of Uttar Pradesh. Raghuraj Pratap Singh,, commonly known as Raja Bhaiya, is an Indian politician, currently serving as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the 18th Uttar Pradesh Assembly, representing the Kunda assembly constituency of Pratapgarh. He has been elected as an MLA for the seventh consecutive time since 1993 from the same constituency. In 2018, he founded and became the national president of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik party. Singh has held various Cabinet Minister positions in the Government of Uttar Pradesh of both Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party administrations.
The Awadhi people or Awadhis are an Indo-Aryan ethno-linguistic group who speak the Awadhi language and reside in the Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh. Many Awadhis also migrated to Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha in India and some adjoining regions of the Terai in Nepal, and in addition 3 per cent of Nepalis are Awadhi speakers. Awadhi people can be found throughout the world, most notably in Fiji, Guyana, Mauritius, South Africa, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. Historically, Indo-Aryans dominated the North Indian Gangetic Planes; thus, the Awadhi language continuously evolved over the centuries in the Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh.
Munishwar Dutt Upadhyay was an Indian politician, statesman, and leader in the Indian independence movement. He was a Member of Parliament from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, belonging to the Indian National Congress.
Roop Nath Singh Yadav was an Indian politician and Member of Parliament of 6th Lok Sabha, belongs to Janata Party representing Pratapgarh Parliamentary Constituency of Uttar Pradesh. He was a veteran freedom fighter who took an active part in the Quit Indian independence movement and was imprisoned.

The Second ministry of Yogi Adityanath is the council of ministers in headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which was formed after 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election which was held in seven phases during February and March in the state.
