The Saifai Airstrip is an airstrip in Saifai tehsil of Etawah District, Uttar Pradesh with only unscheduled chartered flights. [1] This airstrip has an existing land area of 370 acres and it is suitable for Airbus A320/Boeing 737 with turning pads at both ends. [2]

2015

In 2015, Mirage 2000 aircraft of Indian Air Force performed emergency situation tests from the airstrip. [3] [4] [5]

2018

In 2018, Indian Air Force did their second practice exercise at Saifai Airstrip during operation Gagan Shakti 2018. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]

Shivpal Singh Yadav is a politician and educationist from Uttar Pradesh, India. He was born in Saifai village, Etawah district, and is a younger brother of Samajwadi Party leader late Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle of the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav. He is a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, representing the Jaswantnagar seat in Etawah district, from 1996 till now. He is also the National General Secretary of Samajwadi Party and was appointed on 29 January 2023.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was an Indian politician, a socialist figure and founder of the Samajwadi Party. Over the course of his political career spanning more than six decades, he served for three terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and also as the Union Minister of Defence in the Government of India. A long-time parliamentarian, he was a seven-time Member of Parliament representing Mainpuri, Azamgarh, Sambhal and Kannauj constituencies in the Lok Sabha, a ten-time member of the Legislative Assembly, member of the Legislative Council and the Leader of Opposition for several times as well. Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.

Saifai is a large village and university town in the Etawah district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is also a sub-division (Tehsil) and Block of the Etawah district. It is the birthplace of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founding president of the Samajwadi Party, former Minister of Defence, in India and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Raj Kishor Singh is an Indian politician who served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the state Samajwadi Party from 2002 to 2017. He was a minister for Panchayati raj. Before the government of Mulayam Singh, Mr Singh was also a cabinet minister.

Saifai International Cricket Stadium is a cricket stadium of International Standard in Saifai, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated inside Major Dhyan Chand Sports College's campus. With a seating capacity of 43,000 people, it is one of the largest scoreboard display for a cricket stadium in India. There is an All-weather Swimming Pool, Athletics Stadium and Indoor Stadium too in the campus of Sports College along with this cricket stadium. It was inaugurated on 1Jun 2018, along with Etawah Safari Park and Abhinav Vidyalaya, Saifai at a function in Etawah city.

It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Shaktism denomination of Hinduism. The deity of the temple is regarded as the Kuldevi of Purvanchal. It is also known as Kada Dham, Sheetlan and Sheetla Dham, Kada.
