Crokinole is a disk-flicking dexterity board game, possibly of Canadian origin, similar to the games of pitchnut, carrom, and pichenotte, with elements of shuffleboard and curling reduced to table-top size. Players take turns shooting discs across the circular playing surface, trying to land their discs in the higher-scoring regions of the board, particularly the recessed center hole of 20 points, while also attempting to knock opposing discs off the board, and into the 'ditch'. In crokinole, the shooting is generally towards the center of the board, unlike carroms and pitchnut, where the shooting is towards the four outer corner pockets, as in pool. Crokinole is also played using cue sticks, and there is a special category for cue stick participants at the World Crokinole Championships in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada.
The Finger Lakes are a group of eleven long, narrow, roughly north–south lakes in an area called the Finger Lakes region in New York, in the United States. This region straddles the northern and transitional edge, known as the Finger Lakes Uplands and Gorges ecoregion, of the Northern Allegheny Plateau and the Ontario Lowlands ecoregion of the Great Lakes Lowlands.

Milton Finger, known professionally and personally as Bill Finger, was an American comic strip, comic book, film and television writer who was the uncredited co-creator of the DC Comics superhero character Batman. Despite making major contributions as an innovative writer, visionary mythos/world builder and illustration architect, Finger was often relegated to ghostwriter status on many comics -- including Batman, and Green Lantern. While Kane privately admitted in a 1980s audio interview with his autobiographer that Finger was responsible for "50-75% of all the creativity in Batman," for decades he publicly denied Finger had been anything more than a subcontractor executing Kane’s ideas. As a result, Finger died in obscurity and poverty while the Batman brand – and Kane – amassed international fame and wealth. In the 2000s, Finger biographer Marc Tyler Nobleman’s research uncovered previously unknown heirs. At the urging of Nobleman, the online comics fan community and others, Finger's granddaughter revived the fight to restore his lost legacy, which continued for years. In 2015, DC Comics’ parent company conditionally agreed to recognize Finger’s intellectual property claim as co-creator of the Batman characters and mythos, officially adding his name, going forward, to the “created by” credit line Kane had gotten contractually guaranteed in 1939.
Finger Eleven is a Canadian rock band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 1990. They have released seven studio albums, with their album The Greyest of Blue Skies bringing them into the mainstream. Their 2003 self-titled album achieved Gold status in the United States and Platinum in Canada, largely from the success of the single "One Thing", which marked the band's first placing on the US Hot 100 Chart at number 16. Their 2007 album, Them vs. You vs. Me launched the single "Paralyzer", which went on to top the Canadian Hot 100 and both US rock charts, as well as reaching No. 6 on the US Hot 100 and No. 12 on the Australian Singles Chart. They won the Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year in 2008. The same album was later certified gold in the US and multi-platinum in Canada. They released their sixth studio album, Life Turns Electric, on October 5, 2010; it was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Rock Album of the Year. The first single off the album, "Living in a Dream", added elements of funk rock and dance rock, just like their hit song "Paralyzer". Five Crooked Lines, their 7th studio album, was released in 2015. Between 1995 and 2016, Finger Eleven was among the top 75 best-selling Canadian artists in Canada and among the top 25 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada.

It is so named for its traditional association with wedding rings in many cultures, though not all cultures use this finger as the ring finger. Traditionally, a wedding ring was worn only by the bride/wife, but in recent times more men also wear a wedding ring. The three-finger salute is used by members of Scout and Guide organizations around the world when greeting other Scouts and in respect of a national flag at ceremonies. Plains Indian Sign Language (PISL), also known as Plains Sign Talk, Plains Sign Language and First Nation Sign Language, is a trade language, formerly trade pidgin, that was once the lingua franca across what is now central Canada, the central and western United States and northern Mexico, used among the various Plains Nations. It was also used for story-telling, oratory, various ceremonies, and by deaf people for ordinary daily use. It is falsely believed to be a manually coded language or languages; however, there is not substantive evidence establishing a connection between any spoken language and Plains Sign Talk.
Crooked Fingers was an American North Carolina-based indie rock band, led by the former Archers of Loaf lead singer Eric Bachmann. The band was previously based in Seattle, Washington and Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Denver. The band released albums on WARM Records and Merge Records before going completely independent in 2008. They tended to have a rotating lineup, with Bachmann the only constant. Bachmann retired the name Crooked Fingers in January 2016 with a pair of shows in New York City and Durham, NC, playing the first two records in their entirety with a string ensemble and has since been releasing albums under his name.
Finger-Tatuk Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1999, it covers 17,151 hectares and includes Finger Lake and Tatuk Lake, as well as several smaller lakes and archaeological sites once used by Dakelh (Carrier) First Nations peoples. The lakes are known for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon, and each of the two larger lakes has a resort.

A few other vertebrates such as the koala are often described as having "hands" instead of paws on their front limbs.
