The Toyota Camry (XV70) is a mid-size car produced by Toyota since June 2017. Replacing the XV50 series, the XV70 represented the eighth generation of the Toyota Camry in all markets outside Japan, [9] which followed a different generational lineage. Introduced at the January 2017 North American International Auto Show, [8] it is built on the GA-K platform. [6]
The XV70 Camry was first launched in Japan on 10 July 2017. North American production started in June 2017 and sales began in late July 2017. [10]
For the North American market, due to the need to equip Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky with new equipment for the Toyota New Global Architecture, a small portion of the initial batch of the XV70-series Camry was sourced from the Tsutsumi plant in Japan. For the Australian market, the XV70 Camry was imported from Japan and launched on 21 November 2017. This followed the termination of 55 years of Toyota production in Australia, including the closure of the Camry plant at Altona, Victoria. [11] The XV70 Camry also replaced the Camry-based Aurion, which was discontinued in Australia after 11 years. [12]
The XV70 Camry was launched in Thailand on 29 October 2018. [13]
It was also revealed for the Malaysian market on 1 November 2018 [14] and launched on 22 November 2018 at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show. [15] In the Philippines, it was launched on 10 December 2018. [16] [17]
It was also launched in Indonesia on 8 January 2019, [18] [19] [20] in Singapore on 10 January 2019 at the Singapore Motorshow, [21] in India and Brunei on 18 January 2019, [22] [23] [24] and in Vietnam on 23 April 2019. [25] It has been available in Western Europe since April 2019, replacing the Avensis, returning to this market after 14 years of absence. [26] [27]
Each trim level would feature a different front fascia to differentiate it from other Camry models. [28]
Trim Levels for the Japanese Camry include X, G, WS, G Leather Package and WS Leather Package with the fuel system only being Hybrid. Trim levels for the North American Camry include L, LE, SE, XLE, XSE, XLE V6 and XSE V6, as well as LE, SE and XLE versions of the Camry Hybrid. [29] In 2019, for the 2020 model year, the TRD Camry trim level was introduced. It was based on the SE trim and only available with a V6; it comes with sportier suspension, sports exhaust, body kit, trunk spoiler, special TRD-badged interior and red seat belts. [30]
In Puerto Rico, it is available with both petrol and hybrid engines, [31] the TRD sports sedan versions are not available there. [32]
In Guam, it is sold only as LE and XSE hybrid versions. [33]
Trim levels for the Australian Camry include Ascent, Ascent Sport, SX and SL, as well as Ascent, Ascent Sport and SL versions of the Camry Hybrid. [34] The Camry XV70 is the first generation to be imported into Australia since the closure of manufacturing at Toyota Australia's Altona plant in 2017. The Camry is now imported from Japan's Toyota, Aichi plant.
Trim levels for the Thai market Camry include 2.0 G, 2.5 G, 2.5 HV and 2.5 HV Premium, [13] while the Malaysian Camry is only available in 2.5 V trim. [14] [15] Trim levels for the Philippine Camry include 2.5 G and 2.5 V. [16] [17] Trim levels for the Indonesian Camry include 2.5 G and 2.5 V, as well as the Camry Hybrid. [18] [19] [20] Trim levels for the Vietnamese Camry include 2.0 G and 2.5 Q. [25] In Singapore, the Camry is offered in 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre engine options. [21] Only the Camry Hybrid is offered in India. [22] [23] In Brunei, the Camry is only offered in 2.5-litre engine option. [24] For the Chinese market, trim levels consist of 2.0 G, 2.0 E, 2.0 S, 2.5 G, 2.5 Q, 2.5 S, 2.5 HG and 2.5 HQ. Engine choice consisted of the 6AR-FSE, the A25A and the A25B. The 6AR-FSE engine was replaced for the 2019 model year with the 2 litre M20A-FKS, which also powers the Toyota Corolla (E210). Gearbox choices are a 6-speed automatic for 2.0-litre models (6AR-FSE only), an 8-speed automatic for the 2.5G, Q and S and the CVT gearbox for the 2.0 E, 2.0 G, 2.0 S, 2.5HG and 2.5HQ. [35] In Germany, the Camry Hybrid is offered in Business Edition and Executive trim levels. In the United Kingdom, the Camry Hybrid is offered in Design and Excel trim levels.
Engine choices include a base 2.5 L inline four-cylinder (I4) that now produces 151 kW (203 hp) in base form (155 kW (208 hp) when equipped with the optional quad exhaust), the same 2.5 L inline four-cylinder (I4) engine with an electric motor (Hybrid) that produces 155 kW (208 hp), or the top-of-the-line 3.5 L V6 that produces 224 kW (301 hp). [36] In some markets the old 2.5 L 2AR-FE engine is carried over from the previous generation which produces 133 kW (178 hp).
The only major component that is shared with the previous-generation is the Toyota emblem on the front grille and rear trunk lid. [36]
The Camry would be the first Toyota vehicle to introduce the Entune 3.0 System, which, powered by Linux, would be an "Open-Source" operating system (OS), providing for developers to develop different applications that would work with the infotainment system. [37]
Transmission choices include a simulated six-speed sequential shift automatic (CVT) for Hybrid models, six-speed automatic for the 2.5L 2AR-FE engine or an eight-speed automatic for the 2.5L A25A-FKS/A25A-FKB and V6 powered Camrys. [37]
As with all Toyota vehicles, Toyota Safety Sense would come as standard equipment on all Camry models, bringing standard a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, a full-speed radar cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beam assist. Optional safety features would include active blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, intelligent clearance sonar, and rear cross-traffic braking. [37]
In 2019, for the 2020 model year, the Camry became available in North America with AWD for the first time since 1991. [38] [39] AWD is only available on the four-cylinder 2.5L engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. [40] [41]
Like previous generations, the XV70 Camry is available with a hybrid variant. The hybrid variant combines the 2.5L I4 engine with electric motors. The transmission used is a Sequential Shiftmatic CVT that can simulate the feeling of shifting gears. Combined output of the combustion engine and electric motor is 155 kW (208 hp). [42] Different to previous generations, Toyota moved the battery pack from the trunk to below the rear seats, improving cargo space and creating a lower centre-of-gravity. In the US, the LE used a 1.0 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, while the SE and XLE used a 1.6 kWh nickel-metal hydride pack. [43] The fuel economy for the LE Hybrid is 4.6 L/100 km (61 mpg‑imp; 51 mpg‑US) for city driving, 4.4 L/100 km (64 mpg‑imp; 53 mpg‑US) for highway driving, and 4.5 L/100 km (62 mpg‑imp; 52 mpg‑US) combined, a 30 percent increase compared to the standard model. On the exterior, the Hybrid model has a unique blue tint around the Toyota badge. [44]
In 2020, for the 2021 model year, when the Camry received its facelift, the L was dropped and the XSE Hybrid was added. Also, the Android Auto was added, a new 7- and 9-inch floating multimedia displays and also one of the first Toyotas to debut new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+. It consists of an updated Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, which now enhanced with intersection support and emergency steering assist, as well an updated Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which now improved with Curve Speed Management. [45]
The facelifted North American Camry was unveiled on 15 July 2020 and went on sale in October 2020. The facelifted Camry was also released in Japan on 1 February 2021, [46] in Australia on 15 April 2021, [47] in Indonesia on 29 October 2021, [48] in Thailand on 3 November 2021, [49] in the Philippines on 9 December 2021, [50] in Vietnam on 17 December 2021, [51] in Malaysia on 17 February 2022, [52] and in Brunei in May 2022.
For the Indonesian market, the 2.5 G trim was removed from the lineup, leaving only the 2.5 V and 2.5 Hybrid trim levels.
For the Thai market, the 2.0 G trim was removed from the lineup, leaving only the 2.5 Sport, 2.5 Premium, 2.5 Hybrid Premium and 2.5 Hybrid Premium Luxury trim levels.
For the Philippine market, the 2.5 G and 2.5 V trims were removed from the lineup and was replaced by the 2.5 V Hybrid trim.
For the Vietnamese market, the 2.0 Q and 2.5 Hybrid trims were added to the lineup alongside the 2.0 G and 2.5 Q grades, making the Camry available in four models.
The Camry was withdrawn from the United Kingdom in November 2021. [53]
In the United States in 2021, for the 2022 model year, the Nightshade package became available on the hybrid as well as a new exclusive colour for the TRD trim level. [54]
In the United States in 2022, for the 2023 model year, adds a new colour Reservoir Blue for the Nightshade package and Ice Cap replaces Super White. Cavalry Blue becomes available for the SE & XSE trims. [55]
After 43 years, the Camry will be discontinued in Japan by the end of 2023 due to poor sales. [56]

The Toyota Avalon is a full-size sedan manufactured by Toyota, as its largest front-wheel drive sedan; also its flagship in the United States, Canada, China and the Middle East. The Avalon was also manufactured in Australia from April 2000 until June 2005, when it was replaced in November 2006 by the Aurion. The first production Avalon was manufactured in September 1994 at the TMMK assembly line in Georgetown, Kentucky, where subsequent generations have been manufactured.
The Toyota Camry is an automobile sold internationally by the Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota since 1982, spanning multiple generations. Originally compact in size (narrow-body), the Camry has grown since the 1990s to fit the mid-size classification (wide-body)—although the two widths co-existed in that decade. Since the release of the wide-bodied versions, Camry has been extolled by Toyota as the firm's second "world car" after the Corolla. The Toyota Vitz is a subcompact car produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota from 1999 to 2019 in a three- or five-door hatchback body styles. The "Vitz" nameplate was used consistently in Japan, while most international markets received the same vehicle as the Toyota Yaris, or as the Toyota Echo in some markets for the first generation. The Daihatsu Terios is a mini SUV produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Daihatsu since 1997 as the successor to the F300 series Rocky. It was initially offered in both short- and long-wheelbase configurations before the former stopped production in 2016 to be replaced by the A200 series Rocky crossover in 2019. The long-wheelbase variant is available mainly for the Indonesian market with three-row seating options. A smaller kei car model called the Terios Kid/Lucia was also available for the first-generation model.
The Toyota Sienna is a minivan manufactured and marketed by Toyota primarily for the North American market. It is named for the Italian city of Siena, in the region of Tuscany. It replaced the first generation Previa van in 1997 with a more conventional front-wheel drive layout and shares a heavily revised platform with the Camry. Both the Previa and original Sienna were smaller than the other minivans they competed against, but a redesign in 2003 increased the dimensions to match those of its competitors.

The Toyota Hilux, stylised as HiLux and historically as Hi-Lux, is a series of pickup trucks produced and marketed by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota. The majority of these vehicles are sold as pickup truck or cab chassis variants, although they could be configured in a variety of body styles.
The Toyota Fortuner, also known as the Toyota SW4, is a mid-size SUV manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota since 2004. Built on the Hilux pickup truck platform, it features two/three rows of seats and is available in either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configuration. It is a part of Toyota's IMV project for emerging markets, which also includes the Hilux and the Innova.
The Toyota Vios is a nameplate used for subcompact cars produced by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota, primarily for markets in Southeast Asia, China and Taiwan since 2002. Slotted below the compact Corolla, the Vios serves as the replacement to the Tercel, which filled the subcompact or B-segment sedan class in the region. It is also successor to the entry-level variants of the E110 series Corolla in some markets such as the Philippines and Vietnam.
The Toyota Sienta is a mini MPV with sliding doors manufactured by Toyota. It was introduced in September 2003, based on the Vitz/Yaris subcompact car, and is available at all Toyota dealerships in Japan. The Sienta is sold in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Laos, and Thailand. As of 2022, it is positioned below the Voxy/Noah and above the Roomy in Toyota's MPV lineup in Japan. In Indonesia and Thailand, it serves as an upmarket alternative to the Avanza and fills the gap between Avanza and the larger Innova.
The Toyota Corolla (E140/E150) is the tenth generation of cars marketed by Toyota under the Corolla nameplate. The Toyota Auris replaced the Corolla hatchback in Japan and Europe, but remained badged as a "Corolla" in Australia and New Zealand.

Introduced on 3 September 1996, the XV20 series represented the fourth generation of the Toyota Camry in all markets outside Japan, which followed a different generational lineage. The XV20 Camry range is split into different model codes indicative of the engine. Inline-four models utilize the SXV20 (gasoline) and SXV23 (CNG) codes, with MCV20 designating the six-cylinder (V6) versions.
The Toyota Harrier is a five-passenger compact, later mid-size crossover SUV produced by Toyota since December 1997 in Japan, which was once exclusive to Toyopet Store Japanese dealerships. In export markets, the Harrier was rebadged as the Lexus RX from March 1998 to December 2008. At this stage, Toyota had yet to retail the Lexus brand to its Japanese customers.

The Toyota Aurion is a mid-size car produced by Toyota in Australia and parts of Asia from 2006 to 2017. In the two generations it was produced, the Aurion was derived from the equivalent Camry. Changes were mainly limited to revised front- and rear-end treatment, along with changes to the interior. The Camry-based Aurion was also sold in the majority of East and Southeast Asia as the Toyota Camry, with the original version of the Camry sold alongside the Aurion in Australasia and the Middle East. In the previous two markets, the car replaced the Avalon model, which can trace its roots back to the early 1990s. A total of 111,140 Aurions were sold over the 10 year Australian production span.
The Daihatsu Ayla is a city car designed by Daihatsu and manufactured by Astra Daihatsu Motor in Indonesia since 2013, primarily developed for emerging markets. The Ayla has also been sold by Toyota as the Toyota Agya in Indonesia, South Africa, Tunisia and Americas, and the Toyota Wigo in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Brunei and Vietnam through an OEM agreement. The car is also slightly reengineered and manufactured in Malaysia by Perodua as the Perodua Axia.
The Toyota C-HR is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Japanese automaker Toyota since 2016. The development of the car began in 2013, led by Toyota chief engineer Hiroyuki Koba, sharing the TNGA-C (GA-C) platform with the E210 series Corolla and positioned between the Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross in Toyota's crossover SUV range.
The Toyota Corolla (E210) is the twelfth generation of the Corolla, a compact car (C-segment) manufactured by Toyota. Introduced in 2018, this generation has also grown to include hatchback and estate configurations in addition to the saloon (sedan).
The Toyota Corolla Cross is a compact crossover SUV (C-segment) produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota since 2020. Adopting the Corolla nameplate, it is positioned as a more practical and larger alternative to the C-HR and built on the same TNGA-C (GA-C) platform as the E210 series Corolla. By size, the Corolla Cross is positioned between the smaller C-HR—with which it shares a platform—and the larger RAV4, in Toyota's global crossover SUV lineup.
