Morningside is a commercial and residential suburb of Johannesburg in Sandton, South Africa, located in Region E of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. As a part of the former Sandton municipality, it constitutes many affluent residential areas as well as small and medium business enterprises, clinics, schools, hotels and shopping centres.

History

The suburb is situated on part of an old Witwatersrand farm called Zandfontein. [2] It was established on 8 March 1950. [2] The suburb may be named for a suburb of the same name in southern Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

The multi-lane N1 Western Johannesburg Bypass freeway forms its northern boundary with access at William Nicol offramp. It is located in Region E of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.

Sunninghill is a commercial and residential suburb of Sandton in Gauteng, South Africa. It is located in Region A of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. The N1 freeway, which at this area is eight lanes across, forms its southern boundary with access at Rivonia offramp. The K60 road runs through the centre of Sunninghill to assist in easing traffic. Sunninghill is bordered by the suburbs of Paulshof, Kyalami and Woodmead.
