The table below shows the list of Nigerian senators of the 9th National Assembly. [1] The Senate includes three senators from each of the 36 states, plus one senator for the Federal Capital Territory. The Senate president is the head of the house, and assisted by the deputy Senate president. [2] The Senate president and his deputy also work with the principal officers in the house including the majority leader, deputy majority leader, minority leader, deputy minority leader, chief whip, deputy chief whip, minority whip and deputy minority whip.     Ibrahim Shekarau is a former Nigerian minister of education and two-term Governor of Kano State in Nigeria. He was elected in April 2003 and re-elected in April 2007. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was one of the candidates who aspired to become president in the Nigerian general elections of 2011.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Theodore Orji</span> Nigerian politician (born 1950)

    Theodore Ahamefule Orji is a Nigerian politician who served as the senator representing Abia Central senatorial district from 2015 to 2023. He previously served as the governor of Abia State from 2007 to 2015. He was formerly a career civil servant, and served as the chief of staff to Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu.

    Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe is a Nigerian politician who has served as the senator representing Abia South senatorial district since 2007. He previously served as deputy governor of Abia State from 1999 until his resignation and subsequent impeachment in March 2003. He was the minority leader in the 9th senate.

    James Manager is a Nigerian politician of the People's Democratic Party who served as a senator representing Delta South Senatorial District of Delta State in the Nigerian Senate from 2003 to 2023.

    Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya is a Nigerian politician who has served in the Senate of Nigeria since 2007 representing the Kano South constituency of Kano State. He is a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

    Gabriel Torwua Suswam is a Nigerian politician and former Governor of Benue State. He is a Senator Representing Benue North-East Senatorial district of the 9th assembly, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    Hassan Muhammad Gusau, known as Hassan Nasiha, is a Nigerian politician who served as deputy governor of Zamfara State from 2022 to 2023. He took office in 2022 following the impeachment of Mahdi Mohammed Gusau. He was appointed deputy governor by Governor Bello Matawalle after Mahdi Mohammed Gusau was impeached by the Zamfara State House of Assembly on 23 February 2022.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Teslim Folarin</span> Nigerian politician (born 1963)

    Teslim Kolawole Folarin is a Nigerian politician, he was the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State for the 2023 gubernatorial election which he lost to the incumbent governor Seyi Makinde. He previously served as the senator representing Oyo Central senatorial district from 2003 to 2011; and from 2019 to 2023.

    Philips Tanimu Aduda is a Nigerian politician. He served two terms in the Nigerian House of Representatives between 2003 and 2011, and was elected to the Senate for the Abuja Federal Capital Territory in the 9 April 2011 elections, running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ticket.

    Stella Oduah Ogiemwonyi is a Nigerian politician who served as a Minister of Aviation from July 2, 2011 to February 12, 2014 and as a Senator from Anambra North Senatorial District. She was also the Director of Administration and Finance during the political campaign of President Goodluck Jonathan.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Francis Alimikhena</span> Nigerian politician

    Francis Asekhame Alimikhena is a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from Edo State. He served in the Senate from 2015 to 2023, representing Edo North Senatorial District. He was first elected in 2015 and reelected to a second term in 2019. However, he lost his re-election bid in 2023. Alimikhena was the vice-chairman, Senate Committee on Housing and also a member of the Senate committee on Constitutional Review.

    Christopher Stephen Obong Ekpenyong is a Nigerian politician and former Deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State. He was elected to the Nigerian Senate in 2019 to represent Akwa Ibom North-West senatorial district.

    Clifford Ordia is a Nigerian engineer and politician who hails from Usugbenu Irrua in Esan Central local government area of Edo State. He served as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, representing the people of Edo Central senatorial district, Edo State, in the Nigerian Senate. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

    Senator Chief Gershom Henry Bassey is a Nigerian politician and multi-millionaire businessman. He is the senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate. He is a senator of the 8th and 9th National Assembly in Nigeria respectively.

    Bello Mandiya is a Nigerian politician, who was the elected Senator for the Katsina South Senatorial district in February 2019 Nigerian general elections on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC). He was the former chief of staff to the Katsina State governor Aminu Bello Masari.

    Akon Etim Eyakenyi ; born 24 February 1960) is a Nigerian politician who is the deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State. She served as the senator for Akwa Ibom South from 2019 to 2023. Before being elected to the senate, she was the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development from 2014 to 2015 under President Goodluck Jonathan.

    Mohammed Kola Balogun also referred to as KMB is a Nigerian politician who served as senator representing Oyo South senatorial district from 2019 to 2023. He defeated incumbent governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi of the APC at the 2019 senate elections.

    Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka is a Nigerian politician who served as the senator representing the Plateau Central senatorial district from 2019 to 2023. He previously served as a board member TETFUND, North Central Nigeria in the year 2018, and was the chairman of the Senate drugs and narcotics committee from 2019 to 2023.

    Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya is a Nigerian politician and senator. He is representing Katsina Central Senatorial seat in the Senate of Nigeria and was the director general of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

    The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections were held on 25 February 2023 in all 109 senatorial districts where voters elected senators using first-past-the-post voting. The last regular senatorial elections for all districts were in 2019.
