Catonsville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The population was 41,567 at the 2010 census. The community lies to the west of Baltimore along the city's border. Catonsville contains the majority of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), a major public research university with close to 14,000 students.

Route 3 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the Inner Harbor with most trips operating to Cromwell Bridge Road Park and Ride in Baynesville along the corridors of Loch Raven Boulevard and St. Paul Street, with selected trips to Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Towson, mostly via Joppa Road, and some trips making short turns at Loch Raven and Taylor. It is the successor to the 17 St. Paul Street streetcar line that ran from 1893 to 1938 and the Route T bus that ran from 1939 to 1947.
Route 35 was a local bus route running through the city of Baltimore between White Marsh Mall (east) and UMBC (west), operated by the Maryland Transit Administration. The line served the Essex campus of the Community College of Baltimore County, the corridors of Philadelphia Road, Pulaski Highway, Monument Street (Baltimore)|Monument Street]], and Wilkens Avenue, the communities of Rosedale, East Baltimore, Southwest Baltimore, Elm Ridge and Arbutus and several Metro stations until the route was discontinued in June 2017. CityLink Brown currently provides service from White Marsh to downtown Baltimore, while CityLink Yellow connects the city with UMBC.
Maryland Route 372 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Wilkens Avenue, the state highway runs 2.86 miles (4.60 km) from MD 166 in Catonsville east to U.S. Route 1 in Baltimore. MD 372 connects Baltimore and Interstate 695 (I-695) with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and Spring Grove Hospital Center. Wilkens Avenue begins westward from South Gilmor Street, and was constructed from Monroe Street in Baltimore to Rolling Road in the last quarter of the 19th century. Almost the entire length of the highway was improved in the 1930s for local and long-distance traffic. MD 372's eastern terminus was moved west twice: first in the late 1930s when US 1 was moved to the avenue east of Caton Avenue, and again in the late 1940s when US 1 was moved to its present course.
Yale Heights is a neighborhood in the Southwest District of Baltimore, located between Beechfield (west) and Irvington (east). Most of its homes were built in 1955 as a development of two-bedroom, brick townhouses. Its population in 2008 was estimated at 2,916.
Irvington (Baltimore) is a neighborhood in the Southwest District of Baltimore, located between Yale Heights neighborhood to the west and the Gwynns Falls neighborhood to the east. It was historically nicknamed "Skulltown" for its three large cemeteries: Loudon Park, Mount Olivet and New Cathedral.

Frederick Avenue marks the neighborhood's boundary to the north; Wilkens Avenue draws its southern edge. Caton Avenue separates it from Irvington to the west.
Cameron Village is a neighborhood in the North District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Mid-Govans and Woodbourne Heights. Vaguely bell-shaped, its boundaries are marked by Bradhurst Road and E. Belvedere Avenue (north), Woodbourne Avenue (south), Lothian Road (west) and Northwood Drive (east).

Its boundaries form a slender, inverted triangle, with the city line as the neighborhood's northern base and Belvedere Shopping Center as its southern apex. Chinquapin Parkway (west) and The Alameda (east) draw the triangle's sides and cross at the neighborhood's southern tip.
Cylburn is a neighborhood in the North District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Levindale (north) and Edgecomb (south). Its name comes from the two streets, Sabina Avenue and Mattfeldt Avenue, where most of the neighborhood's homes are located.

Its boundaries are marked by West Cold Spring Lane (north), Greenspring Avenue (east), and Springhill Avenue (south). The western edge of the neighborhood runs along Pimlico Road from West Cold Spring Lane to Park Heights Avenue, then along Park Heights Avenue to Springhill Avenue.

Its boundaries are marked by Wilkens Avenue (south), Caton Avenue (east) and Loudon Park Cemetery (northwest). Saint Agnes Hospital is located on the opposite side (south) of Wilkens Avenue.
