The TCR Denmark Touring Car Series is a touring car racing series based in Denmark.
The TCR Denmark Touring Car Series debuted in 2020, running five events. [1] [2]
The TCR Touring Car formula is recognised as a popular and affordable type of series in motorsport. The TCR Denmark Touring Car Championship will open up new opportunities for Danish drivers and will be a new way for national drivers to move up to larger TCR international series among more professional drivers. [1]
Martin Jensen, who entered in the Danish round of the 2019 TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship at Jyllands-Ringen, will act as the CEO for the series. [3] Jensen stated that "Our aim was presenting the best of Touring Car racing to the Danish fans at all the Danish racetracks".
The series will also re-introduce Touring car racing to Denmark for the first time since the Danish Touringcar Championship, which folded in 2010 to create the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
Within the first two weeks of the series' announcement, six confirmed entries had already been made, and two drivers; ex-Formula One and Corvette Racing driver Jan Magnussen [4] and quadruple Danish Touringcar Champion Casper Elgaard. [5] 2019 ADAC GT Masters race winner Nicolai Sylvest will join Magnussen. [6] Norwegian TCR Scandinavia driver Kristian Sætheren will pilot an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR for Insight Racing. [7]
The calendar for the 2020 season was announced on the 17th of December, 2019, confirming six rounds, three at Jyllandsringen, one in Aarhus which is the site of the annual Classic Race Aarhus, one at Ring Djursland and the final round taking place at Padborg Park. [2]
One round of the season is scheduled to be supporting the Danish round of the STCC TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship at Bellahøj Park in Copenhagen. [8]
The official test days for the season were announced on 16 January 2020. The announced dates were the 1st, 2nd and 16th of April at Jyllandsringen. These will also serve as the series' media days for photos and interviews for the drivers and team to take place. [9]
A new calendar was released on 1 May 2020 featuring 18 races as well as a six-race double header at Jyllandsringen. [10] 16 Cars were entered for the first round.
On 12 June 2020, it was announced that Discovery Networks Denmark would broadcast all the rounds of the 2020 TCR Denmark season. [11]

Jan Ellegaard Magnussen is a Danish professional racing driver and was a factory driver for General Motors until the end of the 2020 season. He has competed in Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART), NASCAR, the FIA Formula One World Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Casper Elgaard is a Danish auto racing driver. He has competed several times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2001, as well as regular drives in the Le Mans Series. In 2008 he finished second in the LMP2 class of Le Mans for Team Essex in a Porsche RS Spyder. He also won his class at the 2008 1000 km of Monza. In 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans Elgaard won the LMP2 class in the Team Essex Porsche Spyder.
Kristian Poulsen is a Danish auto racing driver, who currently competes in touring car racing.
FDM Jyllands-Ringen is a motor racing circuit in Resenbro, near Silkeborg in Denmark. The circuit was extended from 1.475 km (0.917 mi) to 2.300 km (1.429 mi) in 2003, by linking the track to an adjacent oval circuit.
The Scandinavian Touring Car Championship (STCC) is a touring car racing series based in Scandinavia. The series took over from the Danish Touringcar Championship and Swedish Touring Car Championship, with its first season in 2011. The Scandinavian Touring Car Cup was awarded in 2010 to the driver with best results from selected races in the Danish and Swedish seasons.
The 2010 Danish Touringcar Championship season was the 11th and last Danish Touringcar Championship (DTC) season. Four of the race weekends will be held together with the Swedish Touring Car Championship and the results from these races will also count towards the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup. From 2011, the new Scandinavian Touring Car Championship will replace both the Swedish and the Danish Touring Car Championships.

Jens Reno Møller is a Danish racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series. Having previously competed in the Danish Touringcar Championship, European Touring Car Cup and Le Mans Series amongst others.
A TCR Touring Car is a touring car specification, first introduced in 2014 and is now employed by a multitude of series worldwide. All TCR Touring Cars are front-wheel drive cars based on 4 or 5 door production vehicles, and are powered by 1.75 to 2.0 litre turbocharged engines. While the bodyshell and suspension layout of the production vehicle is retained in a TCR car, and many models use a production gearbox, certain accommodations are made for the stresses of the racetrack including upgraded brakes and aerodynamics. Competition vehicles are subject to Balance of Performance adjustments to ensure close racing between different vehicles.
The 2019 TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship was the ninth overall season of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season, the third under the internationally recognised TCR formula, and the first with its new promoter. The season started at Ring Knutstorp on 4 May and ended at Mantorp Park on 5 October, after six rounds across Sweden.
The 2019 World Touring Car Cup was the second season of the World Touring Car Cup and 15th overall of World Touring Cars promoted by Discovery Sports Events, which dates back to the 2005 World Touring Car Championship.

It was also the third time the championship has run under the STCC TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship banner. Originally due to start on 15 May at Ring Knutstorp and end on 4 October at Mantorp Park, the season start was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A revised calendar was due to be published sometime after Easter.

The series was set be run as part of the renamed Motorsport Australia Championships series. The rescheduled season-opener was due to be held in Sydney Motorsport Park and it was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship will be the fifth season of touring car racing to be run by the German-based sanctioning body ADAC to the TCR regulations. The series will run predominantly in ADAC's home nation Germany. As a support category to the ADAC GT Masters series, the championship will also take in races in the neighbouring nations of Austria and the Netherlands.
