Universal Channel was a Polish pay-tv-channel owned by NBCUniversal. It was available on the platforms n, Cyfra+, Cyfrowy Polsat and cable networks UPC Polska, Multimedia Polska, Digital Vectra and Toya. After the merger of n and CYFRA+ to nc+ the channel was removed from the offer of the new platform. On March 12, 2014 it returned to nc+ again.

n[ɛn] was a Polish DTH platform. It was launched on October 12, 2006 and owned by ITI Neovision. On December 31, 2011 the company had reached 929,000 subscribers. In March 21, 2013, n was merged with Cyfra+ to form nc+.

Cyfrowy Polsat company

Cyfrowy Polsat S.A. is a Polish DTH platform. It was launched on December 5, 1999 and is the fifth-largest digital platform in Europe and the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. Cyfrowy Polsat has 3.47 million subscribers.

NBCUniversal announced on 6 June 2017 that the channel's closure on 1 September 2017 is "part of a strategic rebalance of its channels’ portfolio in the market". [1]

KidsCo television station

KidsCo was an international children's entertainment brand founded by Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment's Nelvana, American-based producer DIC Entertainment, and European broadcaster Sparrowhawk Media Group in April 2007. By the end of 2007, Sparrowhawk was purchased by media conglomerate NBC Universal, thus giving the company its share in the brand. In June 2008, DiC Entertainment was acquired by Cookie Jar Group, thus also having a stake. In May 2012, Cookie Jar's minority shares in KidsCo were brought by NBCUniversal and Corus, which saw NBCUniversal become majority shareholder with a 51% share while Corus obtained a 43.8% share.

13th Street Universal television station

13th Street Universal is a television channel specialising in action, suspense and police procedural programs and movies. It is owned by NBCUniversal and was launched in France on 13 November 1997, later followed by Germany on 1 May 1998, Spain in 1999 and the Netherlands on 30 May 2007.

Television was introduced in Poland in 1937. It was state owned, and was interrupted by the Second World War in 1939. Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971. Private television stations in Poland appeared around the time of the fall of communism, with PTV Echo becoming the first private station in Poland.

Puls 2 is a Polish television channel. It was launched on 19 July 2012. Channel was created for the second multiplex of digital terrestrial television in Poland. The sister channel is TV Puls, which exists since 2001.

Wizja Pogoda

Wizja Pogoda was the first Polish TV weather channel. The channel started in 1998 und ceased in 2002.

Wizja Le Cinema was a Polish movie channel featuring famous and less known film productions from Europe and the rest of the world. Over the years, the owner, name, form and availability of the channel have changed. Initially, it was a channel of Wizja TV, available only on this platform and some cable networks. In fact, the channel only broadcast European films, though the productions from other parts of the world were rare on the channel. After merging Wizja TV with Cyfra+, the channel did not enter into the offer of the new platform. The name was also changed into Le Cinema and appeared in the rival Cyfrowy Polsat offer.

Toya (company)

TOYA is a Polish cable and digital television and telecommunications provider with headquarters in Łódź. The company's network is one of the largest in the country and covers eight cities – Łódź, Kraków, Mysłowice, Kutno, Przemyśl, Piotrków Trybunalski, Pisz and Pabianice. TOYA products and services are also available in thirteen partner networks of other operators across 25 locations. Apart from delivering cable and digital TV, Internet access and VoIP, the company runs several media and cultural projects.
