Dunns Creek State Park is a Florida State Park, located approximately 15 miles south of Palatka, on US 17.
Native Americans used this site as evidenced by the fairly widespread burial mounds. During the 1920s, a steamboat stop provided wood and water to citrus loaded ships. The area was also used as a post office for the towns of Pomona and Sisco. The 6,000-acre property was the site of turpentining, logging, cattle ranching and farming operations within the last century. Located south of a sharp bend in the St. Johns River along Dunns Creek (which connects to Crescent Lake), the park was added to the state park system in October 2001. [1]

North Miami is a suburban city located in northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Miami. Crystal River State Archaeological Site is a 61-acre (250,000 m2) Florida State Park located on the Crystal River and within the Crystal River Preserve State Park. The park is located two miles (3 km) northwest of the city of Crystal River, on Museum Point off U.S. 19/98.
Crystal River Preserve State Park is a Florida State Park, originally known as the Crystal River Buffer Preserve. The Preserve comprises 27,500 acres of salt marsh, tidal creeks, mangrove islands, hardwood forests, coastal scrub and pine flat woods.

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park is a Florida State Park and historic site located on the former homestead of Pulitzer Prize-winning Florida author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (1896-1953). A National Historic Landmark, it is located in Cross Creek, Florida, between Ocala and Gainesville at 18700 South County Road 325.
Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park is a Florida state park, located 12 miles north of Jacksonville, west of Big and Little Talbot Islands. From 1949 it has been part of the Talbot Islands State Park Complex.
The Hickory Ridge Cemetery Archeological Site (8ES1280) is an archaeological site in Pensacola, Escambia County Florida. It is located north of Big Lagoon and west of Pensacola. During excavations in the 1980s carbon dating was done on burnt wood fragments associated with burials in the mound, with a determination that the site had been used c. 1450. Analysis of ceramics suggested it was a Mississippian culture site, probably from the Late Bottle Creek Phase or Early Bear Point Phases of the Pensacola culture. It was a cemetery associated with a village nearby, (8ES1052). On September 22, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The Cary State Forest is in the U.S. state of Florida. The 13,385-acre (5,417 ha) forest is located in the northeast in Bryceville, Florida, a community between Baldwin and Callahan northwest of Jacksonville. It was established as the second State Forest of Florida, in 1937.
Etoniah Creek State Forest is in the U.S. state of Florida. The 8,679-acre (35 km2) forest is located in North Central Florida, west of Palatka near Florahome. This area is the only known site for Conradina etonia, an endangered plant.
The Withlacoochee State Forest is 157,479-acre (637 km2) in the western central part in the U.S. state of Florida, near Lecanto, Inverness, Floral City, Brooksville, Ridge Manor, and Dade City. The forest was named for the Withlacoochee River, which passes through some of the major tracts within.
Colt Creek State Park is a Florida State Park in Central Florida, 16 miles (26 km) north of Lakeland off of State Road 471. This 5,067 acre park nestled within the Green Swamp Wilderness Area and named after one of the tributaries that flows through the property was opened to the public on January 20, 2007. Composed mainly of pine flatwoods, cypress domes and open pasture land, this piece of pristine wilderness is home to many animal species including the American bald eagle, Southern fox squirrel, gopher tortoise, white-tailed deer, wild turkey and bobcat.
Crescent Lake is a 15,960-acre (64.6 km2) freshwater lake located in Putnam and Flagler counties in North Central Florida. The lake is approximately 13 miles (21 km) in length and 2 miles (3.2 km) wide. At the north end it connects to St. Johns River by way of Dunn's Creek.

The Pensacola culture was a regional variation of the Mississippian culture along the Gulf Coast of the United States that lasted from 1100 to 1700 CE. The archaeological culture covers an area stretching from a transitional Pensacola/Fort Walton culture zone at Choctawhatchee Bay in Florida to the eastern side of the Mississippi River Delta near Biloxi, Mississippi, with the majority of its sites located along Mobile Bay in the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Sites for the culture stretched inland, north into the southern Tombigee and Alabama River valleys, as far as the vicinity of Selma, Alabama.
Sisco is a ghost town located in Putnam County, Florida, United States. It lies off U.S. Route 17 approximately 10 miles north of Crescent City.
Charles H. Bronson State Forest is located north of Christmas, Florida. It covers almost 11,000 acres in southeastern Seminole and northeastern Orange County and is located just south of Little Big Econ State Forest. The St. Johns River forms part of the eastern boundary of the forest.

The Holopaw State Forest is in the U.S. state of Florida. The 58-acre forest is located off U.S. Route 192 in Central Florida, within the unincorporated town of Holopaw, Florida in Osceola County, Florida.
