Kota Greenfield Airport is a proposed airport, planned to be built at Shambupura village in Bundi district, approximately 15 kilometres from Kota, 20 kilometres from Bundi and 50 kilometres from Rawatbhata, in Rajasthan, India. [1] The airport will be built by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The airport site is within 10 kilometres of the Chambal Ghariyal wildlife sanctuary and within 10 kilometres of the Mukundara Hills National Park. The proposed airport falls in the notified buffer area of Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary and will use 466 hectares of forest land. [2]

According to AAI's project report submitted for forest clearance, the airport is being planned on 1250 acres for Airbus A320 type of aircraft in Phase 1, with a provision for 2900 metre long runway and an apron suitable for three Narrow-body aircraft. AAI will construct a terminal building measuring 15000 square metres, with a peak hour capacity of 800 passengers. An Air Traffic Control tower and technical building, a car park for 250 vehicles and a public transport zone is also planned as part of Phase 1. In Phase 2, the runway will be extended to 3581 metres for operation of Code 4C aircraft along with precision approach CAT-1 lighting for IFR operations. Fifteen additional parking stands and a full-length parallel taxiway will also be built as part of Phase 2. [3]

In November 2021, the Rajasthan Government's Cabinet approved the airport's construction and allocated land free of cost. [4] The Environment ministry's Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) approved the greenfield airport in December 2022. [2] In the same month, the State Government approved a proposal of Rs 115 crore for works related to the construction of the airport. Rs 45 crore was to be borne by the Kota Urban Development Trust and the remaining Rs 75.80 crore by the State Government. The Rajasthan State Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited would spend Rs. 40 Crore for the work of shifting EHV power lines in the new Green Field Airport area, which will be carried out by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. [5] A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding MoU was signed in July 2024 between the AAI, the Urban Development Department, and the Civil Aviation Department of Rajasthan Government for the development of the airport. The airport is being built by the Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) at a cost of Rs 220 crore. The project site is located 15 km from the city on 727-acre (2.94 km2) of land in Madhabavi, located outside the city premises. The airport was expected to be ready by early 2023, but this has been pushed back to February 2024.

Navi Mumbai International Airport, officially named as D. B. Patil International Airport, is an international airport being constructed in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. Kolana Airport is an airport serving Jhalawar in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is owned and operated by the State Government of Rajasthan. The airport is spread over 23.5 acres, has a 1710 metre long runway and a 2340 square metre apron for two small aircraft. The terminal building covers 466 Square metres.

Rajkot International Airport is an international airport and a greenfield airport at Hirasar, Gujarat, India, serving the city of Rajkot and the Saurashtra region. It is located near the National Highway 8B (NH-8B) connecting Ahmedabad and Rajkot. It has a single runway for the operation of ‘C’ category aircraft. The airport was developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at a cost of 2,654 crore (US$320 million). The foundation stone for the construction of the airport was laid on 7 October 2017, and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 July 2023, which was previously expected to be done on 31 December 2023.

Dhalbhumgarh Airport is a proposed domestic airport, which will serve the city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. It will be built on a former World War II era airfield in Dhalbhumgarh in East Singhbhum district, about 60 km (37 mi) from Jamshedpur. The Government of Jharkhand and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of the airport on 24 January 2019. Under the MoU, a joint venture company would be set up to construct the airport. The project was initially expected to be completed by December 2020.

Mandi Airport is a proposed greenfield airport to be built at Nag Chala in Mandi District in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The airport will be built on a total of 698 acres. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) gave its clearance for the airport after visiting the site in May 2018. In August 2019, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur requested the Fifteenth Finance Commission for a special purpose grant of Rs 2,000 crore towards construction of the airport for operation of wide-body aircraft. The AAI completed its Obstacle Limitation Surfaces survey for the project site in August 2019. The Ministry of Civil Aviation gave in-principle approval for the execution of the project with the help of the AAI in October 2019. In January 2020, AAI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Himachal Pradesh Government to build and operate the airport through a Joint Venture Company. The airport will have a unidirectional runway, suitable for operation of aircraft up to ATR 72 initially. WAPCOS has been appointed as project consultant and has floated tenders for environmental impact assessment for the project following a site visit in July 2020.
