Dudinin is a small remote town located in the Shire of Kulin in Western Australia, with a population of 72. [1]
Dudinin is located 37 kilometres southeast of the town of Kulin in the Weatbelt region of southeast WA. [2]
On 23 April 1915, Dudinin was founded in preparation for a proposed railway that would travel southeast from Narrogin through Yilliminning. It would run through Dudinin in preference to Wogalin. The railway line was taken over by the government on 15 March 1915 and the line opened on 16 March. [3] [2]
Many businesses relocated from Wogalin to Dudinin, resulting in Dudinin's substantial growth. Wogalin School was dismantled and relocated to Dudinin in 1921. [2]
The government water scheme allowed water from Wellington Dam Hydro Power Station in Collie to be pumped and used in Dudinin in 1970, and in 1973 electricity was provided to the town. [2]

The Merredin to Yilliminning railway line was a railway line connecting Merredin to Yilliminning via Kondinin. Also known as the West Merredin to Yilliminning via Kondinin railway, it was 260 kilometres (160 mi) long. At its northern end, at Merredin, it connected to the Eastern Goldfields Railway while, at the southern terminus at Yilliminning, it connected to the Merredin to Narrogin railway line. From Yilliminning, this line continued to Narrogin, 23 kilometres (14 mi) further west, where the line intersected the Great Southern Railway.
The Wagin to Newdegate railway line is a railway line in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, connecting Wagin via Lake Grace to Newdegate, where the line terminates. The line is 180 kilometres (110 mi) long. At Lake Grace, a 94-kilometre (58 mi) branch line to Hyden exists, while, at Wagin, the railway line connects to the Great Southern Railway. Formerly, at Wagin, it also connected to now inactive railway line to Bowelling.
