Bullfinch is a small town in the eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.
The town was gazetted in 1910. Gold mining is its largest industry.
Gold was first discovered in the area in December 1909 by prospector Charley Jones. The Bullfinch No 1, 2 and 3 were the first leases claimed. The Bullfinch mine closed in 1921, but other mines opened during a boom following World War II. [2] [3] [4] [5] Bullfinch was on the Wyalkatchem_to_Southern_Cross_railway_line, from 1911, [6] [7] [8] and an important part of the wheatbelt rail network in subsequent years.
In 1932 the Wheat Pool of Western Australia announced that the town would have two grain elevators, each fitted with an engine, installed at the railway siding on the Wyalkatchem to Southern Cross railway line. [9]

Southern Cross is a town in Western Australia, 371 kilometres east of state capital Perth on the Great Eastern Highway. Bencubbin is a town in Western Australia in the north eastern Wheatbelt, 275 km north-east of Perth. The town lies within the Shire of Mount Marshall and is home to approximately 294 people as of 2011. Surveyor General John Septimus Roe first surveyed the region in 1836 and he was followed by sandalwood cutters and stockmen, but it was not until 1908 that the first permanent settlers arrived.

Nungarin is a town located in the north east of the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 278 kilometres (173 mi) east of Perth and 39 kilometres (24 mi) north of Merredin. It is the main town in the Shire of Nungarin. At the 2006 census, Nungarin had a population of 142.
Koorda is a town in the north eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 236 kilometres (147 mi) east of Perth and 43 kilometres (27 mi) north of Wyalkatchem at the northeastern end of the Cowcowing Lakes. It is the main town in the Shire of Koorda. At the 2016 census Koorda had a population of 414. The surrounding areas produce wheat and other cereal crops. The town is a receival site for Cooperative Bulk Handling.

The Wyalkatchem to Southern Cross railway line is a partially operational railway line, operated by Arc Infrastructure, in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, once connecting Wyalkatchem with Southern Cross. Of the former 253-kilometre (157 mi) long railway, only the western part, the 121-kilometre (75 mi) long section from Wyalkatchem to Mukinbudin is still operational as the Wyalkatchem to Mukinbudin railway line.
